MODERATORS: Question about your auto-censor

It seems really odd to me that the words S--C--R--A--P--E and S--C--R--A--P--E--R get automatically edited off this site. Is it profanity is some obscure Central African dialect? Considering that this is an automobile restoration venue, scraping is often a major part of the process.

We had to deal with something similar over on the Guns and Ammo forum - -a discussion board dedicated to the use of firearms, and it wouldn't let us use the word C--O--C--K.

Edit: And now that I study the effect, the censor seems to cut the word R--A--P--E out of the middle of it. That shouldn't be edited out of a mechanics forum either - because it perfectly describes what often happens to us when we have to buy vintage parts. . .

Edit again: OK. . .it's actually taking out the word S--C--R--A--P. Again, an inappropriate auto-edit, considering it's what we're trying to save our vehicles from becoming.

How about you post this in the correct forum as this is a TECH forum. There is a forum just for these types of questions. Its called, interestingly enough, the IH8MUD.com Help Corner. It is specifically designed to answer these types of questions, and if you look closely enough, it has probably already been answered.

You control the censor settings from your user CP. I for example can see all sorts of inappropriate things on this forum.

i have been on mud for around 6 years and have never even noticed words being censored.

FYI...the Word S C R A P should never be used in the same sentence as Land Cruiser!!!
