Looks like my old Odessey 34R-PC1500T (made to fit stock model 80 battery box setup with a small Odessey $4 height adaptor) might be giving up the ghost. I have a CTEK (56-353) MULTI US 7002 battery charger on the way to see if I can recover it. I have lots of electronic accessories, inverter and winch. Not interested to invest in a dual battery setup. So now looking for a replacement AGM (deep cycle) battery.
Considering using a Group 31 battery as based on research on Mud, looks like the Group 31 offers the best AGM (deep cycle) performance for those who have a stock factory single battery setup. Odyssey 31M-PC2150 is rated at 1150CCA with a 205 min reserve capacity. What is unclear is will this fit into a stock Model 80 battery box with the standard hold downs? If not, what modifications are involved?
Recognize that not all Group 31 batteries have the same form factor so another option is a Nortstar NSB-AGM31 is rated at 1150CCA with a 220 min reserve capacity. What is unclear is will this fit into a stock Model 80 battery box with the standard hold downs? If not, what modifications are involved?
As always I greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts, opinions and wealth of knowledge.
