Wow that came out nice. I'm not particular to the overly straight lines but that's the general idea. Now to find a buddy who has more of a steady hand than me to get these sides

Yeah different approach to the look, adding the tubing was a nice touch.

did the chop today.

alright folks here it is.

So a few things to mention:

i still have to figure out what I want to do with the two side brackets connecting the crush bar and the bumper. I was thinking maybe flipping them the other way around so I can cut the remaining pieces of the bumper. I'll still need to add the black door trim as mentiond here earlier. Bumper def needs a repaint.

So i opted to make a straight line on the side until the bumper started to curve. After that I did another straight line. I then went for a more curved transition from both cuts. I used a metal filer to create the curved look. I realize that the side view has a ... different.. look to it.

Still a work in progress but that is the general idea of what I wanted to achieve.

Also, the bumper is just as sturdy if not sturdier than before, if any are wondering

Honestly that doesn't look right. I'm glad you tried but the end result looks hack to me.

So part two will include cutting the sides of the crush/crash bar so even out the look. I plan on leave the middle piece to protect the most important components in case of a crash and just leave the tires unobstructed.

Will finish the whole thing with a sander, possible repaint and the door trim posted earlier

So I kept cutting and sanded everything down. Cut off the two brackets holding the bumper. It didnt loose any rigidity

Bumper still needs a repaint but holding off if I want to do the color match grey or black

What a huge improvement in mpg. I used to be around 11-12 and now I'm at 20!

As for the clearance, I'll let you guys know in a bit when I get back from the mall

Huh? No way. Having lower bumpers should actually be better for MPG since it reduced drag under the vehicle. You getting an increase in MPG makes no sense.

It's due to the weight loss and redirected airflow making the car work less. More airflow keeps the engine compartment cool as well
You're smarter than Lexus engineers then. How much weight did you lose by cutting off two tiny pieces off the corner of a plastic bumper?
