I ran across some old pics of Lithonia today and thought maybe I could convince a few people to go while I'm in town for the Christmas party. I'm thinking Sunday morning after the party. Probly would be a pain logistically, but I'll have the big trailer if I bring the Crawler so I could take 2 more rigs.

WTH. That place changes its status every time I talk about it! So that's a big no I guess; probly from anyone?

as far as I know it's always been off limits. There was a thread on Pirate about a local Jeep club that used to go out there and it weren't perty.

Ga Cruisers used to go out there two or three times a year and never had an issue. Then the person who owned the land where the trailer parking was closed it and started trying to keep people out. Then it reverted to him allowing parking there if you payed. Then it went back to being closed and police watching over it closely. Last I heard all had calmed down and, even though nothing changed anywhere on paper or legally, it's no big deal to get in and out from the main street. That's what I know of the place.

Got some info through the grapevine:

Lithonia appears fully open for "business". Lots of vehicles of all types wheeling there recently. Tow rigs and trailers parked in plain view with no complaints.

All that being said, I'm leaning towards still going. I'll probably have to park at the mall though due to trailer size and just drive over on the street. Probably around 2-3 miles at the most I'd say.

i got spooked when we went about two years ago. Do not think i would try it again.

Spooked like what? Scared of police activity or something?

I just did not have a good feeling when I went, and could not put my finger on it. I left early and there were no incidents with anyone.
Would be better to go to Ralphs if he is willing to allow us to visit.

do you have the link?

Just my .02, but if there's ANY doubt about the legitimacy of the spot, why risk it? Just go somewhere else like D-Town or whatever.

I heard through the vine that a couple cruisers went there this past weekend with no problems except carnage.

Lol..

So any updates?

ill tag along. :steer:

D-town is safe... And just happens to be close to me. :steer:

So any updates?
Not looking good for me now. Something going on with my rig after this weekend's Cove ride that I can't figure out. I'll be in town, but not likely bringin the crawler at this point unless it turns out to be something simple that I can fix in the next 7-10 days. The grinding noise sounds like more than "something simple" though. :wrench:

Sorry guys, this certainly ain't happening now. At least not for me anyway. By all means, anyone else can use this as an excuse to get together to wheel though. My crawler's issue wasn't found so I went ahead and started the teardown for an upcoming build.

See y'all at the Christmas party maybe.
