grab, hate to go off topic but uhm why exactly do you have a LX470 errr Cygnus front bumper? It looks good just wondering why you swapped it.
hks3sgte: are you a friend of John L over at Expedition Exchange? If so, he'd be ashamed to have his 90 pictured on this site! ha ha. Just kidding, John's a great guy. Its been a while, but I need to buy some more stuff from him one of these days...
36" tires require a lot of lift. I don't know how you're gonna do it. Is the 8.25R16 XZL available to you? That is more like a 34" tire.
Michelin recommends a 6.5" wide wheel for the 9.00 R16's. I would guess they can fit with the right wheel offset and at most 1/2-1" of body lift (if any at all). Compared to a 315, they are about 1.5" taller, so then they'll require .75" more clearance within the wheel well. But they are also over 2" narrower in width and all the 315's rub on the outer edges of the tread.
Also be aware, max speed rating on these tires is 62 mph.
Today I found interesting tires from BFG dealer
The BFGoodrich Rally Raid tiers
I was looking for these tires, but couldn't get them in Europe. The Rock version is mostly used on Dakar (also on a LC100 - yes, in this size). This is the most durable tire ever made, but don't expect to get many miles out of them when used on paved roads.
As this tires are quite narrow (and only 32" tall), I don't expect them to do well with a loaded car.
I use 265/75R16 MT/Rs on a 6.5" rim. This year my car was heavy and the sand was soft. So sometimes I had to drive with only 0.5bar in the tires. The tire survived this and I was able to reinflate it with a cheap Chinese compressor:

I don't say that MT/Rs are the best tires for the sand, but they sure do take a lot of punishment.
