Install Question for MetalTech Sliders

Just installed sliders on my LC80. My question relates to how you reliably secure the u-bolts.

Are there torque ratings for the u-bolts? If not, how hard do you crank them down? Do any of you tack weld the bolts or use Lok-tite to secure these?

Maybe I'm being paranoid imagining these bolts would come loose over time with vibration and off-road abuse. Still, better to ask the experts. :)

Anyone have the sliders on an hdj81? Any difference in fitment?

I made them very snug & used lock-tite.

They are here!!!

Well I "finally" got my sliders on my rig. I was really hoping it would have been sooner but there was a series of problem preventing it. This in itself is a looooong story. At any rate they are in and they are on!!!!

I think they would fit, you would just have a lot of empty space where the cat guard is. Cruisin built a nice set of sliders for his (and now other) 81s. He had a thread on it, and I think there is a link in his ROTF.

If you're in Ottawa/Gatineau sometime you're welcome to check out the Metaltech sliders on my truck to get an idea of the differences.
