I think Jack or maybe Rusty said they looked at it and it was an assembled basket case...repaint, rust patch, etc.

I looked at it, it was pretty much a fifty footer. Parts from all different years and really only halfway done. Plus he had scraped up both sides against the rocks. Fairly decent start, but not for $8k.

And trust me, I know all about mod fever. I am currently in a twelve step program trying very hard to control myself:D. The problem with 40's is that you have to do EVERYTHING. Huge purchase price, motor, tranny, t-case, gearing, lockers, steering, etc. They are one of the most expensive to build right. Essentially you have a frame and body and go from there. I know, I know, you can build it cheaper, but to me to build it right, it's going to cost a bundle.

And at the end of the day they aren't the best expedition type rig so you wind up getting another rig to throw money at.

Too bad we just can't afford a vehicle for every purpose:frown: Speaking of which, have you figured out what and when you are going to tackle the 100?

That's nice, too rich for my pocket, but very nice. I would give that one a serious look if I had the cash lying around. Turbo Diesel with a 5spd:smokin: and if there where a drooling icon I would use that one too.
