We stopped up to Sierra Lodge (?? always forget the new name...it's the old Galena Forest Inn) a couple nights ago for chow. One of the waiters there, "Scott" (great waiter...ask for him he'll do ya right), asked about my LC...then told us he just bought his first LC; it was cool ...he was stoked!!!. It's a white 60 series with 292k on the clock; original paint and in really good condition given the age and mileage; engine runs fine he said. I think he said he gave a grand for it from someone up at the lake! Anyway he's using it as his DD and wants to start working on it. He had just found 'MUD and BBCNN...so I invited him to our meeting...

I think I can help him spend his money!:D
It would be nice to have another dedicated 60 series guy in the club...
I feel so LONELY sometimes...like the "red headed step child"!:crybaby:

Hey, spressomon - thanks for showing me that slee bumper, it was sweet to see one up close. Great talking to a cruiserhead. And thanks for taking a look at my 60 - it's good to hear that everyone thinks I got a great deal so far... And thanks for the plug on me being a good waiter - I try, I try. heheh... come on up, fellas; it's called the Lodge at Galena, up on Mt. Rose Hwy.

Yeah, guys... I'll try and make it to the next meeting... when/where?

Just took my rig out to pyramid this weekend; had some fun on the beach, truck held up great. I'm officially hooked, and it's just what I've been looking for to fill the gap my subaru forester can't fill.

there are some pics of the 60 in this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=156850

Chicago, I'm sure you'll help me spend my hard-earned $$, but I want to do most all the wrenching myself. Maybe I'll take some helpful hints along the way... :D

Good to meet everyone, I'll see you out on the trails soon.

Cheers!

Hey watchit...until recently I was the only 100 in the club (thanks Rusty!). In fact if the club had to known for one model it would have to be the 40!

That is quite the list from your link. It looks like you don't need our help spending your money, but as a club, we are always willing to help.:grinpimp:

It's okay, Keith, I was the only 80, now I am the only Taco. It's all good.:bounce:

Meetings (unless they conflict with a holiday/special day) are the second Tuesday of each month.
Meeting location: Round Table Pizza (back party room) at Peckam & Virginia (a couple doors East of the Raleys);
Meeting start time: 6:30AM. A
ny 4x4 Toyota owner is welcome to join.

YEUP!
Battle Born 40's of Northern Nevada!
The tide is changing it seems!

Scott,
You cant even IMAGINE what youre in for with this "addiciton"! Sell it now while you still have a shirt on your back, in fact,...You might want to get into some thing a little tamer...Like HERONE or COCAINE! Mere CHILDS PLAY compared to this as a recreation!
I have TWO jobs...One to live off of, and one for the crusier! Yeah I say the second job is to pay off bills etc...HA!
Seriously...For all it is and for all the crap people will give you about it...Just know deep down...Only a REAL MAN can own a cruiser, the rest buy J**P!:D

WELCOME!

Hey I got a 60, but I don't make the meetings, or even the runs. I'm a silent member to say the least. But I'll be in Reno this next week (Wed to Sat). I usually try to make the High Rock run, but things come up. Josh

OOPS!:o
My apologies...Ive only been around for a little over a year, since I got my rig.
Our fearless leader has a 60 as well, but it doesnt go on the trails. Krokar has a 60 too, but I get the feeling that his weapon of choice is his 40.

Chicago

Ya, I have only been around for about a year, but your 62 has way better mods then mine. Josh

Actually Shawn is a 60 guy, he finished a SBC conversion on his last summer. He just drives his 40 most of the time because they rock.:grinpimp:

Truth is it's a good thing that we are getting more diversified, 40's are getting rare.:frown:

I noted Shawn as "our fearless leader" above! ;) I couldnt forget him.
Lately, I see more 40's hangin around on the roads than I do 60's.
Theres been a RASH of them for sale too around here.
I dig em...but theyre $$$$.

I can't afford the purchase price or the upkeep.

Jack

Sheesh...who can really afford any of this ??!! Its as bad as the custom Harley thing I had some 25 years ago...and I swore I'd never do it again:rolleyes:.

Ive got BOTH!!!
I think the crusier is WAAAAY WORSE!
The money pit is endless in a cruiser, where you can only build a bike so much!
IMO, there is still no better way to see country, than by off road!
Some of the places we stay at for camp...You couldnt buy the FINEST hotel room for the night with the views were privy to for free (Virtually anyway)!
BTW, there was a pretty nice looking 40 F/S at that lil corner lot on S virgina and S. meadows...SOA'd, the tub was clean...The sticker in the window said 8100.00. Its gone now, so theres a new 40 owner somewhere here in Reno we might meet.

I think Jack or maybe Rusty said they looked at it and it was an assembled basket case...repaint, rust patch, etc.

Looked good from far, but far from good?
I never stopped to check it out, my eyeballs would always just gravitate over to it when ever Id drive by.
Looked nice, however.
