Hey all,

1995 FZJ80 here (supercharged) with a few issues I'm trying to work through simultaneously and wondering if anyone has dealt with this combo.

**Issue 1 – Melted EGR Vacuum Modulator (25870-66011)**
The EGR vacuum modulator melted — attaching a photo. It's toast. I know the OEM replacement is still available and that seems to be the move, but curious if anyone has seen this level of heat damage and whether there's an underlying cause I should be chasing (beyond just the supercharger adding underhood heat). Did anything else get cooked along with it?

**Issue 2 – P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, Bank 1)**
Pulling a P0420. On a '95 FZJ80 with a supercharger, I'm wondering how others have approached this — bad cat, O2 sensor issue, or something else? Any supercharged-specific considerations?

**Issue 3 – Can't get OBD1 diagnostic to work with the paper clip**
Tried the paperclip method on the OBD1 diagnostic connector (photo attached) to pull codes the old-school way and couldn't get it to work. The connector looks intact but I'm not getting the blink codes. I do have a reader that connects to a port under the dash, but I actually do not know if I can trust this, as everywhere it states that you need to count the blinks in of the check engine light.

Appreciate any help — especially if you've dealt with more than one of these at once on an FZJ80. Thanks!

Marcel

To me there are no dummy question, so here is mine… As per your connection on your OBD1, are your jumping E1 and Te1 with your paper clip?
