How did the run/meeting go today? Did ya break in the lift Matt? Wish I could have made it.

Matt's FJ looks INCREDIBLE. Even better than that, he just walked over everything. We stayed on mostly greens and blues, and Sean did a great job in keeping us out of trouble. Towards the end of the day, a call came over the radios that a jeep was in some serious trouble and some of the trail leaders asked Sean to help with recovery. Jon with his 40 series shared winching duties with a jeep and together they pulled the jeep (it was more like a buggy, with a full cage and 40's) up some of the steepest terrain and rocks that I have ever seen. I honestly did not think that they would be able to pull him out (especially with the jeep guy's winch sparking every couple of seconds). All in all, we had a great day. Jeffrey and Eva came for some food and Sean and his wife brought the grill.

It was nice to see JT in his truck, as he has that thing set up NICE. Also, Jon met a new guy, Jim, who showed up in an Australian spec FJ45 right hand drive truck! That thing was AWESOME! He has some big plans for it, and by the sounds of some of his previous projects, it is going to be one of the most unique Land Cruisers anywhere.

My one regret of the day is that I forgot my camera, especially in watching that recovery effort.

I arrived around 5PM and had a nice time hanging out with everyone.... it was great to meet John Pulich again and see his 40... Matt's FJC looks like it had it's way with the trails, Sean's runner was giving him fits but made it OK, and Rob's 80 looked no worse for the wear... I hiked around the WEROCK area.... wow are they taking out some trees there! The park if certainly changing... hopefully someone has some pics of the wheeling.. I missed JT and John's friend in an imported AU 45 that wheeled! Damn the luck, hope to see him and everyone next time!

Had a good time even though I was a mess as a trail leader. I'm just not that familiar with the green/blues. I'll have to work on that.
Saying that was a jeep was understating it just a bit:) . We're talking about a Grand Cherokee buggie being dragged up a 50 degree rock wall 60+ foot long.

I pulled the dizzy on the 4runner, moved it a tooth, and it fired right up with no issues all morning.

We will load the pictures as soon as possible. It has been kind of a mess with the car wreck my daughter was in. Shes shook up and sore, but will be fine.
Wife has the camera and had to run to Hanover Hospital with supplies for a friend. His daughter had a broken leg that needed surgery. Should calm down tonight or tomorrow and we'll post them.

Had a great time with everybody, like the look of JT's Taco...I got to break in the new lift and see were my rub issues are going to be. Sean you did a great job of piloting the crew this weekend. Rob, did the exhaust get any louder on the way home? The rescue was very cool to see, how everybody came together to get the job done..AND can't forget the mud and froggy...:D

I crawled under today and I am fine.... not louder at all actually :) I had spoken with Jeffrey last evening that I am experiencing a pretty loud whine (woooo) from around 20mph all the way up to 70+ mph. He had suggested ujoints and I checked both of my shafts and they seem to be very tight.... absolutely no play at all. Based on some of the posts on the 80 tech forum, I am thinking pinion/carrier bearings. I will probably pull my front DS and lock my center diff, to at least make sure it's in the rear. Just the thought of tearing into things makes me kinda nervous.... I would love to have a wrenching party soon.

Rausch seems like a pretty good compromise for a meeting place for all, also. I would really like to try to nail down our next meeting or two. I know that the farther out I put things on the calendar, the better.

Sean,

You did a fine job.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your daughter and her friend. Take your time on the pics.
I am anxious to hear if your truck runs better with the slight mod.

Thanks again for cooking and letting my son eat some chicken (to go with his ant)
