Very nice.

What was your old transmission that you just removed?

Edit: found it. What’s your plan for the old drivetrain? Nv4500 and tranfercase
It has been sold. Believe me I struggled over this for the past two years. I hope I will not regret it but felt it was the right way to go with this project. I drive a 6.0 4L60 combo in my DD and a 6.0 4L80 in my work truck. I can not wait to see what it does in something that weighs 2-3000 lbs less.

The LS is in. I used some motor mount plates from ICT Billet to adapt my old 350 mounts to the LS. I put them in the center to see where it would land. It looks like I have room to move them forward which will move the engine back about 2"s. I think I will end up with a H3 oil pan to gain room for the front driveshaft.

Yes! Another drivetrain swap....
I pulled the H55 38mm split case combo out of my 82 FJ40. The above box contained the parking brake set up. I got that installed today.
NOW, Yes the tbi 350 is going back in with a new AA bellhousing.

I have moved all my other 40's away from the house and the race car is in storage so this has to happen.

Drivetrain together and back in...again🙄
Next up will be build a crossmember to hold the tranny. Or I might use the prop mount that goes on the back of the case as I have one of those too.???

Nothing new on this project. Unfortunately it is outside under a custom stretch cover from California Car Covers. Sorry no pics. Covid hit, personal life changed, I moved and now building a new shop to hopefully finish this one day!

Fun project. Did something similar back in 2007

For inspiration you can look at my build thread in my signature where I stretched a 40 27" using an Aqualu tub.
