Actually, the calendar is put together by Henry Brimmer. Other than being advertised in TT I don't believe the TLCA has anything to do with it. None of the money goes back to the TLCA, Henry does it for minimal profit and just likes L/C's. The majority of photographers are TLCA members, but it's not a requirement.

COASTAL CRUISER MEETING MARCH 13, 08

A number of members met at the Spike for supper, and although a Canuck game started, the place was not as crazy as former times.
The meeting started after 8 pm and we did not get enough material covered by 10:00 pm so I suggest we start the next month’s meeting at 7:45 sharp and stay on task so as to avoid running out of time.
Members present: Chris B, Marcin C, Rob Cz, Drew E, Norm F, John G, Aaron K and father Walter, Paul K, Rod McD, Mike McT, Rob Millson, Sopel, Mike N, Steve P, Barry P, Kim R, Phil S, Jeff S, Lisa S and guest, Gary T, Steve T, Pawel Z, Owen R, and Bill W. A good turnout.
Welcome to new member Owen R with his ’88 HJ61. Goodby to former members Deny, Jim, and Lindsay C, and Charla D who will not renew due to their remote locations.

Items:
-The W. Harrison FSR is clear of snow now to Hale Creek.
-The Church Mtn road near the U.S. border in now gated.
-Anyone found trespassing into the Allouette L substation will be charged by Hydro.
-The proposed new CC website is dead. Long live the old CC website.
-Extreme Bends is now a smoke free area at all times.
-After some discussion and a vote, the Golden Spike remains the club choice for grub.

-CHURN CREEK: May 17-19. Some members, Bill and Barry and maybe Gary T will go up Friday the 16 to claim the campsite . This is a family friendly event and children are welcome. The base campsite is easy to get to for any vehicle. The upper trail runs will be more challenging with snow, mud and greasy switchbacks, so good tires are essential. Mike McT will lead the group up the mountain if we can catch him! Warning: he drives hard and takes difficult trails. At least 9 members indicate they are going to Churn Creek. As the weather is unpredictable, dress warmly with winter boots, and if its warm, just peel off the layers. Don’t pitch your tent or park your vehicle under the dead cottonwood trees.

May 17-19 is also the Quesnel Canyon Crawl.

-CRUISER DAYS JULY 19. Marcin has developed a poster and is seen here on the Coastal Cruiser thread. Let him know your ideas about it. We still have no food vendor and time is running short because this is prime summer time. If you know some group with a Food Safe permit who is interested in doing it, we need to know. We need sponsors such as Toyota dealers, auto accessory stores, Aqualu, etc. Most of all, WE NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT TO THE PUBLIC BY EVERY CC MEMBER DOING HIS/HER PART TO POST THE POSTERS AND ADVERTISING THE EVENT ANY WAY THAT THEY CAN. Without everybody’s help, the event will not have enough visitors.

-CLUB BANNER suggestion by Bill brought about discussion that a fancier banner is needed rather than just a plain COASTAL CRUISERS. So Rob Millson is looking into getting one done with the club insignia.

-4WDABC President Steve Dillen attended this meeting and reminded us that their AGM is coming up this month at Ricky’s Restaurant. They are focusing on becoming an umbrella group that communicates various groups’ concerns about restrictions to wilderness access by the public. They have had discussion with the Ministry of Tourism and the District of Chilliwack and have commitments to help maintain roads and sites such as Sunrise L, Loadstone L, Hale Creek, Francis L, Wilson L, and Lookout L . Also, their bylaws and membership rules are changing. We, as a group, will have block membership in the 4WDABC and each member is encouraged to also sign up individually for $20. This evening 11 CC members signed up to 4WDABC: Barry, Phil, John, Gary T, Rod, Sopel, Drew, Pawel, Lisa, and Bill.

-THE RAFFLE was cleaned up by Lisa who won 3 prizes: the safety vest, car cover, and bolt cutters. Marcin donated a 24-110 Volt converter which was won by John. Many thanks Marcin! Drew walked with the trickle battery charger, Phil the pocket survival kit in a can, Walter some ratcheting box wrenches, Gary T the 2 sawhorses, and Tetu another hat with flashlight. Mike McT got skunked: no prizes!

THE MEETING wound up rather abruptly at 10:15 . The place cleared out faster than Gotham Cocktails after the roadside valet shooting.
