@matzell confirming that all I need to bring for the steering wheel beautification is the original kit? Betsy has the other better components ie thread etc?
YES, you are correct sir

I’ll be there before 9 so we can get started early on the tcase

I'll be there around 11:30. Just planning to watch and help where I can/help someone else if they need to get something done.

Currently we have Ed's, Rob's, and Mine on the docket. @Toyodajunkie has not confirmed yet. If he wants my slot its his. Remember folks bring plenty of your own shop towels/rags, gloves, sealants, fluids, etc. Its going to be rainy so we may need to help with mopping up Robs garage floor as well.

We are thinking of sending someone out for pizza for lunch. Bring beer and water as well to stay hydrated.

Looking forward to productive day.

I do not plan to do my 80 t-case gears this weekend, so that leaves another spot open, unless someone wants to use my gears in there 80 and buy me another set to replace them... @Toyodajunkie

I can pull my T-case tonight and tomorrow, then bring it on Saturday Before Ed am. If there is time that would be great. I’m was coming either way though.

Been slammed at work this week and haven’t had the time to check out this thread 🙁

@matzell can we not put him on the rack to make it easier????

There was some wiring I was gonna clean up while in there was the reason to pull it but I’ll bring that stuff and see what else I can get cleaned up too.

I only have the one bay open, so one vehicle at a time inside. Looks like a lot of rain forecasted in the morning hours.

I understand that. My post about the wiring was more of a “if it’s quick and there is time while in the air”. Definitely not looking to hold up the lift.

Should have enough hands around to help take care of that wiring while the case is out.

Goal is to pull gears out of case, have someone clean each case half and parts while I press things apart and back together, then re-install. Should make quick work of it. I plan to watch one of the videos again tonight. Looks pretty straight forward. Need to trim metal shield inside both case halves and clean really good. This is where the brake clean and rags will come into play. I would love to say we can get all three cases done in one day. That is the goal. As I said, mine is not a rush. I still have diff gears to do as well, they may come first, who knows.

While I am working on gears, you can see what you can do on the wiring... should not be an issue.

I gave crutchfield a bunch of money yesterday so I do have some electrical stuff to do in the hundred if anybody has any experience there and not busy with t-cases. I did the same stuff on my 80 though so it's not a huge concern if I have to do it myself later.

I actually checked to see how much they'd charge to install for me and it was $225 which I thought wasn't that bad. 8-12 week wait 😳 though and that's a deal breaker.

I too think 225$ is not bad. But damn... 8-12 week backlog. whoa. I have been wanting to change out my pioneer as well to get a newer head unit and better connectivity.

UPDATE:

Case = CaptainAmerica, ToyodaJunkie, and Land Shark
electrical clean up = Toyodajunkie
Stereo = Pollack
Steering wheel cover = Land Shark
Lift components = Land Shark. dont know if time while on lift but if time permits and extra hands are available...

The head unit should be easy as long as the PO didn't hack into the OEM harness with the weird marine radio that's in it now.
The backup camera will be a bit more complicated but it wasn't so bad in the 80.
