Well it took me long enough to find a locals page!
Glad that one exists found it thanks to the prez's link in his footer!
So real quick just moved here from hawaii ( I know everyone says ohh bummer) not really it gets old if your not a die hard pot smoking surfer.
Anyway my entire three years there I only owned ducatis and did work on those help some guys build theirs up. Now Im ready to get into some wheeling.
Picked myself up a well maintained LX450.
Im new to wheeling and am looking forward to meeting up with some of you crusty old wheelers floating around on here to learn the tricks of the trade.
So far I have thrown on a TJM suspension lift and 315s. I know people say thats big to be running I honestly just like the stance that came with them and I have had no rubbing issues. New drilled slotted rotors on the front and redid the bearings.

Im looking to start fabricating my own front and rear bumpers and sliders. I respect fab shops it just gives me an ego boost to build my own rides. So if there is anyone that does fab work that wouldn't mind teaching for beer or on the cheap please PM me.

My wife and I are also just looking for some cool people to go wheeling with. (she's not a fan of going out alone and I agree)

Looking forward to the next 3 plus years of being here and can't wait to meet up with some of y'all!!

Sorry for the long A$$ post.

Hey Tim,

While you might get some guys from the club to come up, we are located in the Colorado Springs area. You might have better luck contacting the Denver Club (Rising Sun) or the Fort Collins Club (Horsetooth 4 Wheelers Cruiser Club).

Here are the links to their forums:

Rising Sun: http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/forum2/index.php?

Horsetooth 4 Wheelers Cruiser Club: https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/co-wy-horsetooth-4-wheelers-cruiser-club.82/

Hope you have a blast on your CO trip and if you happen to make it down this way, I'm sure there'd be a few of us that'd be more than happy to grab a beer or two with a fellow TLCAer.

...and that's one sweet lookin' taco!

Hey Ian,

Welcome to the Co Springs area. Not quite as warm as Hawaii, but the are a few less die hard pot smokers... well, maybe. :hillbilly:

We meet every third Tuesday for an "official meeting" that usually very unofficial and we go out wheeling at least once a month.

Look forward to doing some wheeling with you & the little lady and POST UP SOME PICS of your LX.

Sorry that was actually our anniversary.
I just met a guy in my apt complex with a new funrunner that he wants to take out. However I am still new and trying to find good wheeling spots. If anyone wants to meet up and go out we are hoping to do some moderate trails.
If no one can make it I would appreciate a few options on close trails. I live off carefree and powers.

Come on up to woodland park and play around in rainbow falls. Go on to Traildamage.com and look up the Missouri gulch trail. Lots of fun, close, and easy to find. You could also run up to monument and take Mt. Herman up to explore Rampart a little bit. Take a right when you hit the rampart intersection, then the next left on 300U. You'll have fun down there too.

Howdy! I'll be relocating from Houston, TX to the Denver area in the next few weeks.

I look forward to mountain biking, snowboarding, wheeling and camping.

Here's a pic of what I'm working with.

Nice rig. Perfect for colorado wheelin'. We're only a short drive south of Denver, keep an eye on our calendar and come on out on a run with us.

Howdy y'all!
My name is Andy. I currently live in Austin TX. Been wheeling a Toyota for the better part of 10 years now.
The wife, soon to be three kids and I plan to move to CO Springs next summer. Pending on if we find work. Can't really just pack up and go like i used to do back in the day.
Any way. Been trolling y'alls section here for a few months and decided i should go ahead and say hi.
This is my rig

My name is Matt, and I hope you can make it up here. I am sure you will love it. Kids always make things difficult. I always thank my parents when I talk to them because now I know what they had to go through. Looks like you got a rig that is capable of any trail here in colorado. Good luck on the move and feel free to troll around.

Thank you Matt. Looking forward to getting up there!
My little 4runner does pretty good here in TX. I'm usually one of the smaller tires when wheeling w/ my core group of wheeling friends. There all 39 to 42 size. It takes me a min, but i get there.

it's all about the driver.

Tough group to follow especially for me with my 33's.:)

You do pretty damn good on your 33's. I think 33-35 is the magic number for CO trails. Trails are still challenging, and you don't have to lift so much that you are too tippy on all of the off-camber trails.

Hi Andy. Good looking truck! Hopefully we can see it in action soon.

Great looking rig! You'll be able to conquer just about anything you point that truck at in CO. Like Andrew said, 33-35's are the hot ticket for most any trail in CO, unless you want to get crazy and run Carnage Canyon, or the Independence trail system. Most of those guys run some serious rigs though. Get up here, get use to the thin air, and have some wheeling!

Thanks! I definitely plan to run Carnage Canyon and The Indy trails along w/ most of the challenging trails CO has to offer. Hell..... I just plan to wheel, wheel, wheel when I arrive. So once we get there I plan to join on just about any trail ride so long as i have the cash to support it.

Maybe on the truck. Not when they get priced out lol I cringe at the price of 37s, even though I realllllly want them.
i bought my wheels and tires off a friend for 800 bucks!! Can't beat that w/ a stick, belt, fist, or anything really. It was a "good friend" price. The tires had one run on them before I bought them.
