Selling my Maggiolina Roof Top Tent - $1050
This is an opportunity to buy a Maggiolina on the other end of the spectrum from the $2-3K, barely used, pristine examples that show up for sale fairly regularly. This tent has been used a lot, and shows some wear as a result. There is some minor damage that has been repaired in a functional, albeit not particularly sophisticated manner. I'm asking about half the price of the "perfect" examples and the tent is fully functional. It is the "small" size. Comes with tent, ladder, mounting hardware, and crank.
The good:
Canvas is in really great shape.
Mattress is in great, clean shape.
Lift mechanism works flawlessly.
Tent functions great!
The bad:
The fiberglass on this tent got cracked when something fell on it. It has been repaired with "Aquamend Underwater Repair Epoxy Putty". It's ugly, but has proved very functional. (No leaks). I did not think to photograph it prior to the repair, but had I done so the upper blemish looked much like the blemish shown in the picture below and the lower one was essentially a crack.
Note: This particular pic is of someone else's tent, not mine, but is shown as an example of what the damage looked like.
Two of the three triangle screens and the door screen all have areas where they are minorly compromised (see pics).
The rail on the front of the rack has a minor dent / bend. I forgot to specifically photograph this but it can (barely) be seen in the second picture in the center of the front section of the right side. It's really insignificant, but trying to be forthcoming, here.
The interior light is in shambles.
The mounting hardware is rough. (Seems to always want to crossthread - though I never let it -, has some bends, etc.) It would be no big deal to replace or fabricate new, I just haven't.
One of the acorns that is used to hold the door open is missing (it stays open with one, though).
The ugly:
The bottom is really scuffed up and worn: This thing has spend some significant time on the roof.
There are little dings here and there.
It could probably benefit from a wax job.
Shipping / Delivery
I can't ship this thing. Autohome charges $100 to crate it then even more to ship it. I can't do that.
I will deliver to many western cities this weekend! for $75 or less (depending on the amount of detour I incur). See list of possible cities below.*
The tent will be taken off the market after this weekend as I will be out of state and my roommate doesn't want to deal with it. When I relist it, the delivery option will no longer available. Tent is located in Kansas City.
* Cities I can deliver to include:
*Denver
*Colorado Springs
*Boulder
*Glenwood Springs
*Breckenridge
*Grand Junction
*Moab
*Pueblo
*Albuquerque
*Santa Fe
*Oklahoma City
*Dallas
*Tucson
*Flagstaff
*Phoenix
*Tulsa
*Las Vegas
There aren't too many that have gone up for sale that are like this one - as I said most of them are pristine - so I had a hard time putting a value on mine. If you think I'm overpriced feel free to send me an offer and I'll let you know Saturday if it's a winner.
Thanks!
Reid
