Merry Christmas!

Hope that Santa was good to everyone :)

I was wondering if anyone had a lead on a M101 trailer (ex-military) be it local, or as far as Alberta?

Thanks :)

I bought mine in Edmonton. Was 800 bucks. Super clean and looked like it was never used. Still nubbies on the tires.

West ed Equipment was the vendor.

Definantely worth the drive. I buy there again. Just ask for the documents if possible. In BC we need a letter supplied to the vendor from the DND. without it you cannot register it as a M101.

Unless of course you chop it up, weld in new stuff everywhere, paint it and call it a homebuilt....... it is just a trailer.

I got a trailer that was sold from that outfit and didn't have any papers. You definitely have to go through some hoops registering it with ICBC, but it can be done. You have to ask them for a Missing Signature/Registration form (I think that's what it was called), and fill it out and have a notary sign and stamp it. The form basically declares that you have lawfully purchased the M-101 trailer and didn't steal it from the Department of National Defense . It also absolves ICBC of any wrongdoing by insuring you should any issues of ownership come up in the future.

I would highly advise against reigstering it as a "homebuilt" for liability issues as the trailer does have a manufacturer and serial number. If you get into an accident with it, you may have to fight with ICBC to get coverage should they deem that fraudulent.

Check out this thread...

Local, registered, and in Abby. Not sure of his stock right now. I know BJ70guy had a buddy buy one from this, they blasted and painted the trailer for a good price. Forget the details, but may Norm can post up if he is around.

He paid $1100 or $1200 for the trailer sanblasted, painted, wired and converted to 12V, and the bed Herculined. Ready to hook up to your truck and enjoy. He did a really nice job, the thing looks great. I should have just dropped mine off with him for the same treatment (maybe I still could - it would actually get done then...).
