I’m really looking forward to see a speed acceleration video of a Landcruiser 100 / Lexus LX 470 equipped with a TRD supercharger!

Toyotas TRD Company goes for my understanding quiet mysterious ways in relation to the TRD Supercharger.

First of all they stopped the selling the TRD Supercharger for the LC100/LX470 and second they never released the TRD Supercharger for the LC200/LX570 although selling it for the Tundra and for the Sequoia!

Toyota what are you doing?

Based on my experience (which includes the LC200 Japanese Specification and LX570) I can tell that adjusting the ECU with the Unichip after the supercharger installation is quite a challenging work. At least it was for the 3 cars we have done!

However the increase in power/torque resulting in a better driving performance was worth to do the work. :)

I have been thinking the same thing. Why they offer it for Tundra/Sequoia but not the LC?

I am ordering a URD ECU with wifi capability instead of the UniChip. My only problem is I have to find a performance shop to program the ECU. I have been debating whether to use an ipod/ipad/ipad mini to monitor vitals (boost, air fuel ratio, transmission temp). I talked with my shop today and they charge low rates but they take their time. I won't be able to get the car for 3-4 weeks (I am going out of town shortly).

Personally I was very intrigued by the Bullet setup and thought it was supposed to be better than the TRD. I was very interested in their intercooler setup especially. They marketed their product pretty well.

Interesting. Looks like it's made in New Zealand, they have an iPhone app and one coming specifically for the iPad which will supposedly let you tune it on the fly.

Reading the NZ forums the tuning software is Windows only but there's mention of a plugin to allow the software to work on a Mac. I'll have to research that one as i'll be running it on a Mac laptop if i bought it. Worse case scenario would be having to run Windows in Parallels or VirtualBox. But if the iPad app does all that then you'd only need the Windows software as a fallback.

There doesn;t seem to be any tuning maps for the 2UZ-FE, but i guess any decent tuning shop should be able to handle that. Then you could upload them to the forums for anyone else to use.

edit: it's probably not made in NZ as everything is made in China these days, but probably designed in NZ.
