Lubricant Recommendations

What are some recommendations on lubricants for transmission, transfer case, front and rear ends for a 1974 FJ40?

Amsoil synthetic gear oil if it doesnt see water at all. If it sees water, then go with the cheapest synthetic that Wal-Mart carries.

Hi All:

Your basic 75W90 weight GL-5 rated gear oil for all of the gear boxes on a FJ40.

If you do a lot of deeper water crossings, puddles, etc. plan on changing-out thisgear oil once a year.

I do use 80W140 weight gear oil in the rear axle because of the LockRite 'locker.

engine- castrol GTX
transmission and transfer unit-Hypoy
front axle-Hypoy B
rear axle- Hypoy B
hydraulic system-Castrol Girling universal clutch and brake fluid
winch (standard)- Hypoy B
