Silliness

I don’t know anything about these engine swaps but I always dreamed of having a shop boring and stroking another liter out of the 5.7.

If I were to engine swap I’d try to get the Century V12 and supercharge it. If I’m gonna go through the effort I wanna go crazy.

I get why you’d wanna go LS but which one were you thinking? Supercharged? Turbo?

If you want a 7.0L 800HP monster you can still do that with the 3UR. The kit isn't cheap though...

If the project goes forward and is documented here, I predict a thread many hundreds of pages (not just posts) long and years in the making.
With lots of expletives and throwing objects I'm sure. When and if this comes to fruit the next chapter is how do I stop this 4 ton brick?

This does seem like the way...

I just saved you $7500....

If that swap had been done it would surely be smattered all over social media.

Throwing the integration complexities aside, the 3UR is one helluva driveline with either transmission. If you have the 8spd, even moreso...so why replace it? Legitimately asking here.
cost

I wonder if supercharging properly, stage 2 with custom fuel pump and full ECU tune would be more street able / relaxed than a stroker kit with similar power levels. Realistically all installed etc I don’t think the price would be too different.

Obviously in both options a full exhaust is a must, to make sure you aren’t choking it.

When I saw the new Prado with a 4 banger and batteries, first thing I thought was LS swap. I have no use for a hybrid anything. 4 cylinder, no. Fire hazard battery cells, no. all that space could fit a long range tank that the forced induction LS can drink. But, I'll just keep my 200.

Are you chasing power? If yes, the sound of a supercharged 3UR 5.7 is without a doubt amazing! Let alone the power delivery.

I've swapped LS/LT to older gen Land Cruisers. Although they are very easy to do I really don't see why you'd pull out a perfectly reliable and torquey 3UR for an LT.

The LT is great but the 3UR is equally good. I'd argue the 3UR is more reliable.

Tuning the transimision on a swapped car is not going to be as perfect as it is straight out of Toyota.

resale value is affected big time for a 200 that is known to have good drivetrain record.

I'd love to see it done. But not on my 200.
