I ran those cheap block huggers on my FJ62 for three years. They rubbed several of my plug wires and caused misfires.

Here is a project we are working on now with a 4l60. Ignore the red valve covers and timing cover, those are getting swapped out red valve covers on a blue truck, don’t know what the guy was thinking

Good ole wrangler at/s.. you don’t see those around anymore.

I like that manifold fitment.

What mounts do you use?

This is just the AA setup. I hate them but unfortunately don’t have time to work on developing a system like I have for 60’s and 80’s.

X2 with those huggers, they were too big plus they dump straight down, hard to route them like others expressed. I picked up two sets of edelbrocks that worked fantastic under the 40, however Not sure if they still make them as this was about 9 years ago. It also has a integrated 02 bung

those valve covers are tough to sand and polish, the casting is rough! Good idea to paint them if next time.

@matzell just checked your project, looking really nice !

Matt,

Can you get me a couple of pics on the pass side. I want to see what it looks like near the starter. I guess a top view and maybe a side view so I can see how far back it dumps out.

Thanks
Rob

I'll try to remember to - but there is plenty of room. It's like it might as well be an OEM GM manifold.

So I just did ebay. $140 last year. Stainless, V-band, block huggers. Came with the V-band clamps and the downpipe flange already welded to a 45 elbow. Passenger collector is a little close to the engine mount. Close up of the clearance for the starter. I can only find 3 bolt flange block huggers now.

I ran those for two years. They got scrapped.

Yup, like Hooker, Headman, Downey, etc. Spend less up front and you're less angry. Of course, I did have some cheap-ass chrome BBKs on my Cobra and they are 20 years old and still going. But that is a show car, like this Cruiser will be.

For those on the fence, suck it up and buy the Sanderson block huggers! They FIT! Plenty of room for wires. They also clear AA motor mounts. I tried some Doug Thorleys and they hit the mounts and were close to the frame
