Good day, I am trying to install a lower rad hose heater (1500 watt zero start) in my 1990 HDJ81 and am not too sure how to go about it. To make matters worse I had this out of the package to install in my old car, but never did . . . what I did do though is lose the package and instructions.

From the reading I've done it looks like it is important that it be installed as low as possible in relation to the block. The inlets/outlets are 5/8's so I imagine this would install on a heater hose?

Has anyone done this on one of these, and if so where did you end up putting it?

Is there a certain way they need to go? As in is there an inlet and an outlet side of the heater? Where should I splice into the factory heater hose?

Thanks very much for any input!

I have never installed this kinda heater. But I would imagine that it would sit low as possible on the 5/8 heater hose. You might have to add a chunk of heater hose to fit it in. I would mount it to an inner fender.

In my BJ60 it has two sizes of heater hose, 5/8 and 3/4 not sure what your 80 has.

If your posting on here you must have internet :) look up the manufactor of the heater and see if they have instructions in PDF. Most products put there manuals online nowadays.

i have installed these in the past, THEY SUCK. get a proper lower rad hose heater (1 1/2") and install it, much easier...
