How dirty was the TB?

Amazing how such a small amount of grime can reduce the airflow that much.
Behind the plate it was coated with black sticky grime.

I would imagine that surface screws up the airflow leading to issues. I cleaned the MAF also. I didn't do anything with the pcv valve as Julian suggested. I'll go back in after that.

Also, the oil change. Read what Julian said above and my wife's experience with that. I turned a deaf ear to it but it made a huge difference.

A few small things add up as Julian suggested I guess.

Car is stalling again when warm. I have a new pcv valve here.

Where is it located on the engine? 1998 LC.

Anything else I should check?

Wife just reported that its still stalling.

I have cleaned MAF and TB, new PCV and grommet. Visually checked vacuum hoses. I suppose I could look again.

What now? It runs great when it runs and starts right away. This problem seems to occur after it has warmed up.

I did not DC the battery to relearn. I will go that now as well.

Any other ideas?

I have a PO115 engine temperature circuit CEL. Could this cause the stalling?

At the parts store they have the sensor and the sender. My research says this code is on the sender circuit. Is that correct?

Going to replace the sendor anyway.

Mine had the same symptoms of stalling while cruising slow in parking lots or making a 3 point turn. Turned out to be my TPS (throttle position sensor). I wasn't getting a CEL on the dash either so it took me a while of trouble shooting like you.

Thank you. Did you replace that yourself? Just reading on tps , apps and full Tv replacement. I may have more troubleshooting yet to go from what I read.

Going to do the coolant sensor and a coolant change and flush today. That's the only CEL code I have at this point.

Most others had CEL indicating tps etc. you didn't?

Interesting, improper temp signal to ECM could cause A/F issues. Although I've not heard of temp issues causing stalls. Do you have an FSM, it has a diagnostic tree for all codes to work through!

No I do not. Is that available on line? Do you have the link?
Thank you

I've got 2000LX, 2001LC & 2004LC. IIRC 98-99 had some differences that my newer FSM might not have or give what you need. So you should root around here in 100 series & FAQ. Also look online at place like Ebay, CL & Craigslist to mention few.

I purchase my 01 hard copy new at Dealer which is way to pricy.

As a bandaid have you tried running the defrost to keep up the idle? I had to do that a couple days before I could get to cleaning the Tbody and MAF. Fortunately, that was the end of my idle problem.

I did not replace the TPS myself, when I replaced my PCV valve I did notice slight improvement and ever so slight higher rpm at idle. TPS wasn't terribly expensive and I believe it's not hard to replace yourself.

Update. I replaced the temp sensor and have driven the car fairly regularly and the stalling issue seems to be resolved.

Hopefully this might help others if they have this issue. I'll report back if things change.

Thank you all for the help.
