Love my '16 LC, but can't stand going to the dealer...

I am also extremely skeptical of Toyota dealers. After the experience of dealing with mercedes and BMW dealerships I expect that level of service. Anything less would be unsatisfactory IMO. I understand that they are a different class of vehicles but service is still service.

It's silly to suggest doing your own work on a car that's under warranty. If Toyota had more volume in LCs etc it would behoove them to certify dealers (much like Chryco did with the Viper) to work on and sell them. Alas, no volume, no certs, no s***s given.

I bet they know how to spell "Corolla".

You paint with a broad brush, not all dealers are like that. I worked with many very talented professionals in my 37 years in the car business.

Agreed, not all dealers are bad, unfortunately the stereotype exists for a reason. I've got 20 years experience in one store. I'm on the sales side and have always been but I'm super proud of my service team. Currently ranked 5th in the nation for service retention out of around 1400 stores. Not all are bad.

Because every 200 is still under warranty? Also, maintenance is generally not included in a warranty. This is what I'm referring to. I'm not implying you should fix an issue. I am implying to perform preventative maintenance.

Find a better Toyota store to service at or just goto Lexus.

Lexus is obsessive about the service experience and I've found them the cheapest to service with among the luxury brands (Mercedes, Porsche, etc.). I think I'm charged $30 more for my GS compared to my Camry for routine oil changes at their respective brand dealers. Well worth it IMO.

Will Toyota pay Lexus the same amount if I were to take my LC there for ToyotaCare Maintenance?

ToyotaCare needs to be redeemed at a Toyota Dealer.

Why not just take it to the Lexus Dealer, see how that works out? It is after all a 80k truck. Lexus DOES easily recognize that...
Yup

Since 1997 I have had a LC and wife has had the same model year LX

Always serviced both at the same time at the Lexus dealer
No issues

Currently 2016 LC and 2016 LX both serviced at Lexus dealers

The only thing you miss by taking a Toyota to a Lexus store is the warranty items and the chance of recall and safety upgrades that are done when Toyotas are in for service. ANY Toyota dealer can service your vehicle. I don't understand why people still think they have to use the selling dealer. I would try other stores and see if that improves your experience.

Haha you'll get that at a lot of places. The best service experiences i ever had were for my Corvette at a Chevy dealer. They have a master tech that only works on corvettes, only the manager of the valet can drive your car, and if you call to make an appointment and they find out you're bringing in your Vette they transfer to the service GM.

That being said it's a lot easier getting consistent service at the luxury dealers.

This is an enlightening thread for me. I think I will start taking my 200 to the Lexus dealer which I really didn't even consider before reading this. At least give it a try. My convenient Toyota dealer has frustrated me with getting my 200 serviced. Not only do they seem baffled that it isn't a Sequoia, they seem confused when I ask them to service it other than oil changes and tire rotation. They did admit they don't see many 200's.
