I guess that was the Texan answer for go BIG or go home :hhmm:  at least he didn't use 10 or 12 inch shackles or did he :D

I don't see how it can move at that angle

I'd love to see you bring two rigs, then maybe you could wheel for a whole event!

I was going to post a smart mouthed comeback... but I deserve that. The 4runner is not going anywhere till it is right. I am tired of going wheeling and not going wheeling. Next time I come home my shed will be empty andthe 4runner will be going in, stripped of all wireing and most of the body either going to cage it all or dovetail it. I wired up the ignition a while back with the GM ignition module got fire but never finished up the wireing because i dont want to keep laying good wiring over bad. thinking hard about taking some of the money that would have bought the new 4runner and just biting the bullet to order the gotpropane kit

Whoa. Explain that torque bar setup in the front please....

It is just extended so that the torque bar is level like it would be in the stock configuration. It is not to the same but it makes me think of IFS trucks with cradle drop lifts. I dont know why...

If you notice the swaybar links are extended also. Truck was built while the guy was in highschool and was probably either a mudder or a mall crawler.

The factory torque bar on the front axle is there to help in aggressive braking situation (panic stops), so that the drive can still maintain control of his/her solid axle truck . Well at least that is what I can remember about the purpose of it. I could see it also helping with axle wrap if you were running soft springs.

Go diesel Josh! Toy or tdi and you will be happy. Good luck on getting you're rig straight.

I couldn't tell whether the stock torque bar was there or not. Likes almost like it welded straight up to the frame.

I know it prevents able wrap when braking, but I didn't notice much of a change when I removed mine. I don't like that its of center. Causes the axle to twist when you have soft springa and brake hard.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket S2 using IH8MUD for Android.

If I was going to be driving it on the street I would absolutely go diesel. I would really like an OM617. but for a straight up trail rig I dont think the cost is worth it.

EDIT: and your torque bar, you removed that before or after you did the high steer? it only helps with the push pull because axle rotation with push pull causes bump steer something awful i have been told.

Yeah, I took it offawhile before high steer because it was already in a bind with the lift.

Eshan Half Doors

I've got a pair of Eshan (Pakistani) half-doors for an FJ40 for sale. These come with the uppers for use with a soft top or you can leave them off. These have never been painted or installed. The doors are primed as they came from the "manufacturer." I did some research and found that I bought them from Scott for $500 so that's what I am selling them for. Theses are the same doors I have on my FJ40 now. Anyway, Sean asked me about them at the Crawfish Boil so I'll give him right of first refusal. If he doesn't want them, I'll sell them on a "first come" basis. I'll try to take some pics later today and post them this evening. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I might be interested- are they early or late style doors? Can you post some pics?

Hey guys.....moving into my next "phase" I guess. I am looking for a toy hauler to be able to tow the 40 and not have to sleep on the ground any longer. I know some of you guys peruse other sites so if you happen to come across a decent set-up for sale please pass it along.

My wife would like me to get one that I can park the 40 inside and get the 40 out of the garage. The only problem is that I would have to spend crazy money for something like that......not gonna happen unless I find someone very generous. So, I think I will wind up with something like Paul and Ms. Jean have.....a gooseneck with a slide in or pop-up on the front. Looking to spend no more than $8k but the less expensive the better. There are a few for sale on Pirate right now but nothing that I can convince the wife we should get. I have only been really looking for a few days so I am not in a rush. Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated.

Its got a dent near the diesel.I'll get some more pictures next time I get down that way.
