Bump for similar symptoms. On flat ground, if I romp the pedal it accelerates "OK", I guess. If I let my foot of the gas it feels like I just threw a drag chute out the back, and I slow down dramatically as the rpms come down. I could "coast" while in D from 50 MPH to 0 in 1/4 mile or less on the flat. If it romp on the pedal the same, then shift into neutral, I can coast on the flat for 1/2 mile with a very gradual loss in speed, so it's not bearings, tires, diffs, etc. that are all turning while I coast. I've also had a split-second power loss while towing. Rarely ever registers on the Torque tachometer, or the dash tach, but occasionally will flicker. You can definitely feel it, though. PCV valve recently changed, throttle body cleaned, throttle body (incl APPS and TPS) only about 5 years old. Only happens when it's hot. Because it's only always hot here... Oh, and MPG's are sucking more than usual, I'm at 10-11 mixed, whereas I'm usually 11-13 (all tracked on acar app, so apples-to-apples, unadjusted for the 295's on there). Would weak fuel delivery cause this, or should I look to the tranny?

Tagging @virafp and @El Cid since they went through this recently.

I can't see fuel delivery causing slowing drag, but it absolutely could cause flat spot & low MPG!

I use engine braking often to control down hill speed by letting off gas peddle. By kicking OD off, it really slows (drags), is this what yours feels like?

Kind of, but if that's it, it sure feels like it's downshifting way too early.

Just fishing:
Can you feel change in drag when switching OD OFF & ON while slowing in D?
Do you see RPM change when switching OD on & off while cruising?

I have the same issue in my LX
Struggles going on the freeway on ramps.
I’ve done fuel filter in engine compartment, pcv valve with no change.
Anyone figure this one out?

Brought the family up to Mammoth Lakes for holiday weekend.
The LX did great til I start going up slight incline or steep incline.
The rpm won’t go over 2,000, not even if I push the O/D button.
No power going up the hills at all.
I replaced fuel filter in engine compartment.
I’ve read it could be the fuel pump in engine.
I know it’s a pretty common issue wondering if anyone has figured it out.

Any thoughts on just adjusting the slack?
