Looking to patch my wheel well panel with these patch kits from SOR. Anyone have any advice?

The body I'm working on was cut to accommodate larger wheels. They had some rear fenders on there. I want to bring it back to OEM look. I am looking to buy these panels from SOR:

Would it be easier to cut the panel to fit these patches, or cut the patches to fit the panels? I'm guess it's easier to cut the panels. Anyone have any lessons learned? Thanks.

I would be concerned about where the weld seam falls in relation to the wheel well top. If i was doing it I would want access on both sides to clean it up good and seal it.

I purchased very similar patch panels from Real Steel. Our fenders had been hacked pretty severely. I had a body shop do the surgery. Turned out well.

I am curious how the body shop handled the inside portion of the tub, the old rivet hole were probably above the inner wheel wells?
