Tuffmudder, the 4bt is a great choice, also the Isuzu, its going to be about availability for you, I also love the 6bt but have to agree with everyone here, unless your gold plated its going to eventually cost you a lot of bucks...my trouble is I live here in the Phils now and the choices here are vastly different than the stuff in the states...I had an Isuzu Trooper here and loved it, cant remember the engine though...just put a 15bf in my 40 here and its a beast...but almost impossible to find there I bet....good luck on your search, btw where did you end up putting this tread?

I sent a request to move it to the fj55 forum, but it looks like it was left in the tech forum. Thanks for the thoughts. Thankfully, it does appear I'll be able to get a 4bt without breaking the bank. If a good deal pops up on an nv4500, I'll go with that, if not, I'll put a Muncie 4 speed behind it

Just my .02 on the tires. Someone suggested TSLs over km2. First off the swampers are about 2x in price over the km2s. I have 35in swampers and just picking up my kids in the afternoon I can see the tread shrinking daily. I also have a detroit locker which Im sure doesnt help.

I am jealous of your engine swap. I originally wanted to do a diesel swap but the pig I bought had a 350 already so im keeping it that way. I may get another pig for the diesel repower.

4bt can be found in the old frito trucks and bread vans. Companies were auctioning them off for a while but I dont know if they have been picked clean by now. Good luck.

Tuffmudder, just getting on mud and saw your post. Looks like she is going to go way further than I could take her. Awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with her.

Thanks Carmon. I'm excited to get her. Of course if I can figure out a way to get the 350 running, i may end up having so much fun that I'm unwilling to have the downtime needed for all of this
