Looking for help with seized KDSS accumulator relief valve screws

I’ve tried kroil, freeze off, an assortment of screw and pipe extractors, and I’ve taken it to the only 2 tig welders I could find that agreed to work on a vehicle and they said they wouldn’t be able to weld a bolt or nut onto the old hex/allen cavity.

I’ve gotten to the point of considering the foot pump and other required tools to drain it and replace the accumulator in hopes I could use the bleeders to relieve the pressure and drain the fluid.

Are there any other options? Has anyone tackled this job themselves? I’m near Charlotte but I haven’t been able to find anyone (even Toyota/Lexus dealers) that will do this job.

Have you shown any welders pictures of what people have done on this board? Should be a simple job to at least give it a go.

One other thought from my experience with welders.. the specialized TIG guys may not be the best for this job. They are often used to very clean conditions for perfect results... this is very much an imperfect, compromise scenario.

Yeah, this isn't a job for the best TIG welder in town, but you probably don't necessarily want to take it to a muffler shop either. Maybe reach out to your local LC club and see who they might recommend, you might even have someone offer to do it for free.

Probably buried in the big PSA thread about checking for KDSS corrosion. I admit it has been a long time since I've seen anything posted, but they are definitely in this section somewhere.

The clubhouse section is usually a decent way to find clubs.. generally it will be a TLCA chapter if that helps in your searching.

You are not too far from @Trollhole They are in Greenville sc area(simpsonville). I am sure they can help you out. They are an independent repair shop that mostly works on lc.

I am in a losing battle with my KDSS bolts.

So far it is Team KDSS bolts 4 vs Team Aero Kroil 1.

I've soaked them both in Kroil for a couple of weeks. I've scraped at them with pick. I've used an impact driver.

I broke the inboard one loose, but the outboard one won't budge.

I think my last hope is heat, but I want to be very careful if I go down that road. Heat and a sealed hydraulic system seems like it could go bad.

Any tips or advice?
