So after 14 years I'm replacing my rear springs with heavier constant load 4" lift springs. Old ones have sagged with age and I put a 50mm coil spacer on them all those years ago so hopefully the new coils will hold the ride height a bit better. Already unbolted the rear shocks at the axle end and have the rear axle on full droop. I'll have to do a bit of downwards leveraging to pop the old coils and spacers out but what looks like a fair bit more downwards leveraging to make enough room to fir the new ones in.
What's the best method to make more room under droop ? Stumpy jack between the axle housing and the frame or similar? Long crowbar ? Will be keeping an eye on cable lengths etc as I don't wish to tensile strength test them :-)

Before lifting the truck, unbolt the front and rear sway bars from the axles. This allows more droop.

It's binding on the control arm bushings and leveraging on them will damage them. Loosen them up and not only will the axle drop easier but they will be in a relaxed strain at the new ride height

I used a bottle jack for this recently.
Managed to prop it between axle and frame somewhere.

Also worth loosening control arm bolts at the chassis so bushes rotate more easily until its sitting back on the ground
Beat me to it as I was typing Haha
