Does anyone have a recommendation for making keys from the original lock cylinders? I have no keys and want to lock and roll down the rear window with a key.

I can call around locally but if there's someone recommended who I could send my cylinder to someone that's been proven by my fellow pig herders here.

I don't know, I'be never had a key. It's a 1970 Fj55, but I'm not sure if the locks are original to the vehicle or not, but I only assume they are.

I have not installed locks yet, so I can send them somewhere if needed.

This is the later Very Unique and ODD FJ55 stand alone toyota vehical

double sided key blank 90999-00027 , it goes by T61E by Silka

who still makes the best keys in the Universe ........... 😇

When I bought my “70 Pig, there was only one lock cylinder in the passenger door along with the tailgate key lock though I had no key for either. I bought a used lock cylinder from Lil John for the drivers door then simply took all 3 locks to the local locksmith. They were able to make a single key that fit door and tailgate locks and it works perfectly. Door/tailgate key is on the right in the picture

a 1970 fj55 should have a in dash ignition switch ?

they went to the column one same year date as the FJ40 1973 ..............

do u have a spare hole in the left side lower of your dash ?

either a 3/8 " one or a 1" one ?

if your truck is titled correctly , it has a later steering column then ..........

thats my hunch

the key on the left is a TR-33 style

and was introduced in 1973 all land cruisers and used up till and throuh 1990 FJ62

FJ80 uses different key upgrade in 1991 called a TR40

let me know or post photos of your dash LH side .....

i have TOYOTA microfich and also , have worked on plenty of 68-1972 fj55 with a in- dash single side ignition set up

this is a 1971 FJ55 note the lock location

No spare hole left side of dash. Headlight switch and choke only. Not sure if the PO changed things around though and added the current column ignition switch. If the ignition switch was on the left side of dash, maybe it was where the choke was moved to and now resides.

Yes I had hole on left side of dash although I don't have the cylinder there any longer. I replaced the standard column and key with a modern tilt wheel so that won't be much help.

Here are listings of lock and rear window cylinders. They have no referential markings or numbers. My VIN is: FJ5518382

@ToyotaMatt I dug through all my wiring removed during my restoration. I found an ignition cylinder (but no keys). The cylinder has marking 8FN if that helps connect to the pictures previously posted here.

8FN is NOT a toyota key code ?

that looks like a OEM cylinder , however maybe not ?

flip it on the back side , black plastic , look for any TOYOTA OEM markings

u may need to KLEAN it up a bit to see them

this is a example of the updated switch , but the numbers and staps should be similar ....

your looking for the TR logo in the circle ......fyi

@ToyotaMatt what exactly am I looking for that will give you a lead to know if you can't cut keys for my door locks or tailgate?

This switch has the "TR" in the middle and the poles are marked 1G, ST, B, and ACC. No other makings to be found on the back in the plastic.

the stamp on the side of the key might be a5N Or 2FN. I've attached a good picture for anyone who has younger eyes. My eyes can't see that well and I'm looking under a magnifying glass.
