Location ideas (Sand) (1 Viewer)

Good morning everyone.
I am in planning stages of a near future test and the main requirement is sand.
Normally this would be Glamis.
But we are trying to stay within am hour of the town of Maricopa.

I can't find anything on a map.

Anyone have any ideas?

How much sand? Big open stretches, or will dry washes work?
Hassyampa river bottom at I10 comes to mind.

Thanks I'll check that area out.

Size would be something that could safely run 100+ mph and we have manufacturer plates. So it's gotta be legal. Short muti-day, 2 to 3 vehicle type event.

I have a feeling it's going to be Glamis. I'm going to search Google Earth tonight.

Hassayampa has some straight enough stretches for burst speed up to 100mph, but no way you could maintain it for any distance. There are plenty of canyon shifts due to mountains, and it's not the flattest sand surface either. Lots of exposed rocks, tree stumps, etc which would need to have a course coned out ahead of time. Throw in a few ATVs, some shooters who won't have much time to see/hear you coming, and that could be a rece for disaster.
