And then jacked it to 8 because of the HUD... according to the flustered service writer who was on the receiving end of my displeasure.

Mike can do many of these calibrations with his equipment, but my car wasn't compatible.

The glass work was somewhere around $2k. The bill from Audi was $1800. Yay insurance!

100% agree.

My dad has a '22 X5 and hit a deer doing around 30-40mph. Not really any physical damage except for a small crack in the bumper. He was going to wait a little bit to get it fixed until he started getting errors from the 'active' whatever sensors in the front for auto braking and whatnot. Took it into the body shop and it was $6k to fix. New bumper, new crossmember of some sort, sensors needed to be calibrated again, and a few other things.

A few years ago I hit a big deer when I was doing about the same speed in my '97 Maxima and there wasn't a scratch. Lower point of impact on the Maxima helped, but it's crazy how much cars have changed in terms of pedestrian impact safety. No ABS, TC, or anything fancy on it too. I miss that car...

Want to shout-out Sandblast America and NOVA Speed, both in Manassas.

Had my new-to-me WK sliders sandblasted and powder coated for a decent price at Sandblast America. Turnaround time was 3 weeks but I wasn't really in a hurry.

NOVA speed did my lift, diff drop, timing belt, front crank seal, thermostat, water pump, inner and outer tie rods, fan clutch bracket, and maybe one or two other things I'm forgetting. Took 2 days for the lift and alignment and 3 days for everything else as I did it in 2 trips. Prices were reasonable for NOVA and the guys there know Cruisers really well. I'll definitely be going back for other things I need in the future.

Anyone local to Chantilly willing to put eyes on an '03 for a South Carolina MUD member looking for a replacement? Car lived it's life in NY so far, but the videos actually look pretty good. I'm willing to fly in for it, if it's the right vehicle. Needs a timing belt, for sure, so potentially looking to get that done local prior to drive 8 hrs home to SC in it.

Would be a good couple of day trip to see some sights for an anniversary trip as well.

Normally you can't add out of stock items to your cart, but I ended up finding a bug with the ARB USA website - it takes a few seconds for the "out of stock" part to load, so I refreshed the page and spammed the "add to cart" button, which actually worked, and I went through checkout and got an order confirmation.

Hopefully they honor the order and don't cancel it. I don't really care when it arrives as long as it makes it to my door eventually.

Took my ‘24 4R in for its first oil change and tire rotation at Koon’s Tysons today. Toyota techs managed to damage the center caps on 3 wheels.

I got the receipts to show the caps were fine 48 hours ago. What monkeys.

I just gave them a call and texted them pics. Ill update with how it plays out…

Actually, I'm pretty sure Koons Arlington broke off and/or lost the perforated metal core from an aftermarket metal oil filter housing on my 200 and put the filter in anyway... found out a few thousand miles later. Engine runs fine but... yeah. Not cool.
