Ok, Joe. ;) ever think you may want to wheel in the winter? putting that top back on could make it more fun when its 14* outside.

I can always section the hardtop to fit and put a plastic window in. Or just turn up the heat and wear some Carharts:lol:

Not sure how much wheeling I will get in this winter anyways with the baby being born :steer:

I have a black 4runner tailgate if you want to put a straight one on there for now ;-)

I never did look for that tail light. Did you find one?

Anybody got a pickup bed laying around or know of one. Looking to get the back portion with the tail gate to bob and graft onto my 4 Runner in the future. That way I am shorter and have a tail gate without glass.

That would be great with the tail gate, what do you want for the tailgate, hopefully not too much, she ain't in a beauty contest :p

I did end up finding a pair on Ebay for a reasonable price.

Thanks

The tailgate isn't anything too great!

Searching for 60/62 rear axle

My old message slipped down on the list so I thought I would shoot out another..

I am looking for a 60/62 rear axle to use on my 40. The only thing I don't need is the 3rd. I don't have a lot to spend and would like to keep it less than $150 if at all possible.

Thanks!

'79 fj40

All,

I stumbled upon a '79 FJ40 today. It is really rusty, but the drivetrain is good - and everything under the hood is stock.

The ONLY parts that are good on this are the engine/tranny/transfer/axles and misc little parts. The frame and body are rusted beyond repair and there is no top or windshield.

The guy is asking $600 - which I deemed too high for what I need off of it. He pointed out that he can get that for scrap..... darned scrap prices!

I am looking for someone who wants to split this up with me.

I would like the 2f engine accessories and brackets from the front of the engine. I would also like the 3rds.

This would leave the engine/tranny/transfer and a disk brake front axle. I am willing to pick it up and to part it. Let's work a deal!

Email me if interested.

might wanna call up the scrap yard and find out what they're paying per pound. around here you probably wouldn't even get $300 for that in scrap, minus the cost of hauling it there. you can definitely beat the guys price down a good bit

FS 1965 ford F250, I know I will regret this, but I hardly drive it any more and I'm being a bit selfish keeping it...

Very clean body Ca truck. 2wd, Warm 390 that was rebuilt in 99 I have a box full of receipts from PO and engine shop. It’s mated to a 1987 4 spd/ OD manual transmission. It pulls very nicely 70 MPH at about 2500 RPMs. Custom 60 gal fuel cell in the bed topped with steel tool box. I have the orig fuel tank out of cab. It has newer glass front and back, nwe door seals.

It has a dana 60 rear with 4.10’s and a posi unit. It has power steering and power brakes from a 72 . I have a bench seat from an 85 in there(still have orig). I also have a dual master cylinder and the brakes are like new. New radius arm bushings. New clutch/TO/and PB. Newer exhaust ,system with headers and an “H” pipe crossover and new dynomax mufflers. It also has a 2 speed windshield wiper. I’m running a dual electric fan,. New starter.

OK this is as rust free as you can get in the north east. Only rust would be from a scratch or two on in the bed or some surface rust on the under carriage. Really, it is rust and rot free. No real bodywork I’m aware of…except for the driver side box had a dent I the top rail from a tree falling on it.

This truck is very clean and well done it is no show truck but a great daily driver. I did about 4K a year on it. Drives straight and brakes great.

It is used as a truck and has “used truck” dents/dings here and there.

The paint on there was only supposed to kill the previous old color … yellow w/ orange flames But I like it, it’s orange peel satin finish for blue… It is not professional, but there aren’t any runs.

The truck would drive even nicer with some better tires and a sway bar. But it handles and drives great even with “E” rated tires. It has a great custom low profile rear bumper with 2” receiver. And an electric brake controller.

There’s a mount on the ceiling for a radio, sorry no speaker only the beautiful sound of a 390.

I’ve insulated the roof and doors. It has the zipper side pockets.

To finish it needs a carpet set, headliner and clean up the interior.

$4500 drive it anywhere.

If you meet my price I’ll throw in a ¾ disc brake setup (uninstalled). 2 extra gauge panels one sweep one round. Also an extra drag link, steering column, power brake booster, and cooling line. Original seat(it needs some spring work) and the gas tank… Some original ceiling panels. a Set or original steel wheels, CC door moldings

If anybody is interested shoot me an email and well talk.

Bob
