LJ71 info needed

Does anyone have any info on the LJ71 , it has a 2400cc diesel engine with turbo 5 speed
I am unfamiliar with the 2400cc engine anyone ever own one or know anything about them,what kind of 5spd trany does it have.

Here in Finland theres a lot of Cruisers like that, but it´s type is LJ-70. What comes to that engine, like crushers said... 2LT is guttless engine with weak head. And can´t take much tune up like updated turbo. Other than that, great rig with lot of potential!

The answer is "who cares?" they are crap engines. As Crushers has said, RUN away... don't just walk, RUN.

The tranny is likely the r151, check the tag under the hood. As the others have mentioned many people have had problems with the weak head and there is not much info on this site other than the weak head syndrome. No i don't have one I saw a couple come up for auction and never heard of the 2400cc diesel ,kind of figured it was not one of Toyota's stellar motors or it would have been longer lived like the 3B.
