this is her. shes 7 hrs away in ottawa (im in sudbury ontario). 8900$, 215000km, 86' 2.4 turbo diesel, coils all round w 2 inch lift, manual hubs, no ac, no lockers, and most importantly no rust.

what do you guys think? any problems that i should look out for that are inherrent with this model?

i currently have a tacoma so im not too familiar w cruisers. i am looking to buy this and build it mildly to use as a summer dd/trail rig. just the standard stuff like 33's sliders winch etc.

thanks in advance for the help

If I was spending my money on a RHD Japanese import I would get one with a 1HZ engine( 6 cylinder) or a 13b-t engine(4 cylinder turbo).

As both are heavy duty engines that will last for decades.

That particular engine is of frequent debate on here. Type in the words "head" or LJ78 or 2L-te into the search.

Some guys love the LJ series and think they are great....others not so much.

the engine is not bombproof but it's a great little truck, I enjoyed mine a lot when I had it. After that getting in myBJ40 it feels like decades outdated, the LJ is about as good as it gets in a rugged simplicity, yet advanced handling and comfort.
This one has the big advantage of being LHD, the raised roof indicates a Netherlands origin. My LJ was a NL too, but it had a fair bit of rust

k thanks guys. that was my primary concern (engine). i think ill pass and wait for another one to come along.
