Hi Mates!

I have a problem with the windshield of my toy, has a lot of rust and corrosion reviewing the Toyota EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue), I saw that there are several types or models framework windshield...

Nº part:

56301 - 90K18 windshield frame (LJ-70 Soft - Top, KZJ-70 Soft - Top)

56301 - 90K20 windshield frame (BJ-73, LJ-73, KZJ-73, RJ-73)

That is why my doubt is whether the two frameworks - windshields are similar or different?

I suppose that will be different in the aspect of securing the top as it is a framework for roofs fiber and other roofing canvas, or is that each frame has a number of different piece but are equal ?????

I ask because I would not buy a windshield-BJ-73 or LJ-73 in the s c r a p - yard, and then having to inject it at home as a work of art ...

... what we fear is that they are different and if so, I am the way for Toyota to buy a "new" :bang: € € €

Thanks for your help

Repair... windscreen frame?

Hi mates!

Another option is:

is take a body repair shop, you repair, can be cut so rotten and re-welded sheet...

... The problem is finding a good body-repair :bang:

And, after my old framework windshield repair or buy another (new or used) to do the following:

fill the inside of the windscreen with polyurethane foam that this is used in the works to prevent the ingress of water to the interior, is good idea or not???

Thanks for your help...

buy new from toyota, contact Dave a Japan 4X4... he is your answer...

Hi Lulo. I think they are the same but you would have to measure them ,or preferably get 2 side by side for comparison to be sure.
Someone claimed the glass was a different size but they never came back with the measurements.

If they were different ,it would affect the door, roof and angle

I dont think they are worth repairing if it has holes in it. My 75 is due for new frame and the frame is $700,last year was $600:confused:
There are F/glass for about half steel frame price

i looked up the part number and the BJ70 rag has the same part number as the PZJ 70
so lets take this a step further, the LJ70 body has the same sheet metal as the BJ70

so

yes, the frames are identical between the LJ, BJ, PZ, HZ... and the only difference between the 73/74 series and the rag top is the reciver channel for the soft top...

Yes,depending on which one you buy. Some look terrible as they are thicker than the original.

i agree with Rosco, some fiberglass reproductions are bang on and some are crap...

contact Dave at Japan 4X4, i bought my last rag top windshield frame new from Toyota direct from Japan for under $500 CND...

Hey mates!

I leave here two pics of the frames windshield, one of LJ-70 and one of BJ-73, the only major difference is that under windshield of LJ have an additional piece at the top which is the anchor of the rag-top :bounce:

BJ-73:

I thnk this one was a F/G frame from Fibreglass Replacement Panels (FRP)in Queensland

I use to have a pic of a realy bad one,the gutters were about an inch wide and the frame was sort of rounded and sat higher than the surrounding body work
