Thanks Woody! It definately does everything we challenge it to. ;)

It appears you are speaking of two different Jeeps.

You could do this like we do Rubithon -- Just have several small groups, and spread them out over a couple of days. Was there a spot where you could have a group gathering?

Being a TLCA event, it would provide you insurance, and a way to advertise it. Not really required, but it might help, if you had a club that wanted to organize it.

the camping areas we were at were tight even with our group size....any more would have been impossible.

IMO, any "event" size run thru here would only create a mess, and likely create issues with the BLM too...because this was organized by the Trail Teams and supported by Toyota as well, we had extra permits and hoops to jump thru, and costs involved as well. Gustaf spent a LOT of time on the phone with the BLM for permits.

By the same token, our Marketing group is excited to see more of these runs in 2008, so watch your calendars!!

BTW: since folks have asked on our maps, here ya go...

I missed this one because of a trip out of the country. I do not want to miss the next one. As Uphill said, "If there is a preferred list, PLEASE put me on it" and send a notification :^)

Woody, et. al
What about having an expedition event in the Alpine loop area?
Lots of trails, camping areas big enough to host a large number of vehicles and numerous trials to spread out the rigs. Not really true point to point expeditioning (although it could be with the right planning).

anything is possible....pm me with some details on that area!

I've got a GPS puck enroute for my new laptop and will be pulling in software yet this week....have a few months to learn it prior to next year!

I live in the area. The alpine loop would be great. Perfect Land Cruiser trails. With river crossings old mining claims, ghost towns, breathtaking views. the trails are rated 4 to 5. I know the area well and usually have my hunting camp there. I can provide any info you need. And get great rates on services like hotels and passes to the hot springs. I would be willing to be a local point man.

ps. It was nice to meet you in grand Junction before you headed out. I wish I could have gone with you, work really sucked that week:crybaby:

That sounds like a great area.

Cool pics Mike.

I would like to attend next year, but don't want to hold anyone up. An expedition shouldn't be a race and a slower moving truck and trailer will ruffle some feathers. That same trail with an extra day or two would have been great. It would have allowed for more time to explore and kick back.

t shirts

Just checking to see if I fell out of the loop on this.
On the last day of our trip we all had food together and I remember giving up $25.00 for a t-shirt.
What happened with that?
