It's been on the blue tip diet plan for the last couple of evenings. Soon to get about a 10' stretch in length, about a 4" lowering, a new deck, and a few extra goodies. Same sort of deal as Roger and Bigcountry but no where near as nice(I'll show ya white trash!)

Anybody got any good ideas for decking material? I was planning 1/8" tread plate but the local yard wants $195 per 5' x 10" sheet!!!!! Gona have to do better than that on my budget. I'm open to suggestions.

Hey bud best wishes on the trailer & with the wife!

Daryl just go ahead and drop the cash on the treadplate and be done with it. It's a one time spend and well worth it but if for some reason you don't just go back with 2x6's. Hope everything is ok with the mississ and we'll keep ya'll in our prayers.

prayer for you & your wife.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys -I will see that she gets them. We're sure it will all be OK and keeping things positive. Plans are for a little slice and dice session on the 13th and we'll know if we need to go further then. Keep a good thought!

As for the project, found some 14ga. treadplate for much better price. A little lighter than I would have liked but, with proper bracing, I think it will be fine. I need to gather some material now to keep this thing moving forward.

Daryl what ever you do be sure to put 2 jacks in the front. You will be very glad you did when it comes to leveling it and just jacking it up period. I noticed it just had one and thought i would mention it.

Just a quick update folks. Mrs. Wanabe's surgery went well and things are lookin up! The final pathology won't be in for about a week but the Dr. seems quite sure the coast is clear. Just got to get her healed up from the surgery and it's back to life as usual. Thanks again for all the kind thoughts - I know it helped!

Bout damn time -now I can get back to work on the trailer...:D

Fawk the trailer ... thanks for the update on the Missus.

:flamingo:

Next thing ya know you're gona be spouting some crap like " Ya know, this s*** ain't really about the wheelin - it's about the people" (or something like that):D

Seriously, her motivation for recovery is all about how soon she can go wheelin with you folks again. Somebody must have made a good impression when nobody was lookin.
