@ Markuson - What rear springs are you running? I've got a set of OME 2722 that I'll need to install. Thanks for the feedback...

With no additional mods in back (drawers, bumper, tire-carrier), I've got 2721's, which feel about right...but as soon as heavier mods go in back, I'll switch to either 2722 or 2723. I would think you'll be fine with the 22's at stock weight though. Are you installing any weight in back?

Not to derail this thread, but you can add the spacers without having to totally remove the coilover, correct?

Cool thanks - I won't be installing any weight in the back but I do pull my camping trailer which probably has about 300# of tongue weight. Hopefully the 2722s won't be to harsh unloaded...

Looks like 2721 is a variable rate spring (270/350 lbf/in) whereas 2722 has a constant rate of 275 lbf/in and 2723 has a constant rate of 340 lbf/in. 2721 has coil weight of 8.8 kg whereas 2722 has a coil weight of 8.0 kg and 2723 has a coil weight of 8.9 kg.

Once I add the combined weight of a heavy rear bumper/tire carrier/3 full jerry-cans, drawer system and a rooftop tent to sliders and skid plates, I'll definitely need 2723 or so to deal with this serious weight increase. This will amount to many hundreds of additional pounds. 2723 is rated for a constant 200kg, which is about 440 pounds. I'll easily be in that range & much more when loaded.

By the way... Don't believe the ARB sheet where it says "No Lift" with 2721 springs! I got nearly 3 inches lift with 2721.

First, let me just say... I'm no expert! In my NON-EXPERT opinion...I do think you'll be fine with the 2722...but I'd suggest talking with your supplier, or Slee, etc. I don't tow trailers with my rig, and my opinion should not be assumed to be best...

Have a look at the weights shown for each:

ARB doesn't list a specific weight for the 2722. Just says "Medium..." (whatever that means).

Frankly, I think ARB fudges their lift predictions in order to satisfy Australia's laws for additional lift. I think it's not supposed to exceed 2 inches...so I suspect they list lower than actual lift. I can tell you that you will get a significant rear lift even from the 2721...even though ARB says "no lift."

But look at the Constant KGS listed. I'll easily have over 200KGS to justify a switch to the 23 with mods. You will have about 140 lbs less than that with just your tongue weight, so maybe not an issue for you.

I am no expert either, but look at the ARB spring specifications, in particular 'free height' and 'spring rate'

Nothing new re: coil specs & the ARB application guide. Those apps are primarily created for the Australian market where vehicles and vehicle uses are simply different. ARB doesn't sell parts to consumers and they are not in the business of offering vehicle build specific tech, that is the retailers job and they can/should have all these answers. If you trust them with your $$, trust them with your tech support needs. Likewise if you trust a retailer to answer your tech questions, you should have previously trusted them with your business.

I would talk to either Cruiser Outfitters or Slee. They are both incredibly experienced with all things Land Cruiser and especially with lifts. I also appreciate that neither of these shops talk people into things they don't need.

It's coming along. Got the preload adjusted and the struts back in the front end. Now off to the rear...
