I purchased a donor FJ with a hardtop of unknown vintage (to me). Someone crafted a handle which works to open from outside, but I am looking to replace it with original parts. Where is a good source for a complete latch with inside/outside handles, gaskets, etc.? If anyone has most/all of the parts needed (I can probably make a gasket if necessary), message me with how much you want for it. Or, if I have something you need maybe we can work out a trade. This is an April of 1971 Fj40 (except for the doors and hardtop, which I don't know the exact year for). Motor is locked up, but the head looks freshly rebuilt when I pulled the valve cover... not sure what the history is. Anyway, I'm basically striping it down and trying to get anything useful off it before clearing it out of the yard. I'll probably try to hone my welding/bodywork skills on it before tackling projects on my running/driving FJ40.

You should put a wanted ad in the classified section. I wouldn't get rid of the donor vehicle until you're done with the project.

69211-90300, several for sale on line, I have a spare used one. The rubber gasket is also available from Toyota 69256-60010. Inner handle 69260-60010 I think is NLA best I can tell but some aftermarket or used available online. I would remove that inner panel first to get an idea of how much you are missing and condition. The hatches don't seal that great and the mechanism can be corroded.

This forum never fails to impress! Thanks to everyone for the information. I'm slowly getting around to various items as I strip the usable parts (that I need for my 71) so I may be a bit delayed as one project stalls and another takes my attention (restoring heater box and steering wheel at the moment). I will need some help to remove the roll bars off my runner and to get this hard top moved over, which is an unknown variable. But don't think I have abandoned the topic. I will most certainly be returning with more photos and information on what I have and what I need.
