License Plate relocation

I have an '88 pickup and I will soon be the proud owner of a Marlin rear bumper, but I'm concerned that the bumper may obstruct the view of my license plate. I thought it would be a simple fix: just screw the plate into the tailgate, but I didn't take the lighting into consideration. Does anyone have any advice to offer for relocating the tailgate and lighting (pictures would be great)?

For those of you that have Marlin bumpers, did you have to relocate the license plate or does the plate not significantly obstruct the view?

While I'm at it, I'm buying a friend's used tube front bumper. He never had to worry about the front plate because his rig wasn't a daily driver. Does anyone have any recommendations for relocating the front license plate?

I just want to see what some of you have done to relocate front and back license plates. I can't be the only one wheelin' in my daily driver, right?

I have the Marlin Bumper, I thought it would fly but I got a warning about plate visibility.

I have no tailgate so I welded a bracket to my cage. I want to get the license plate bolts that light up, currently my stock lights are zip tied on. It's not practical for every setup but it is more visible.

This how I mounted mine. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the tailgate and ran the wires through. The two bolts holding it are actually lights as well. If I remember correct the lights were designed for motorcycle plates.

The bolt/lights are a good idea. Another is using a plate frame with a light - like this:

One thing to be aware of with relocating the plate to the tailgate... I had that setup and then was carrying a long object that I dropped the tailgate to accomodate. I got pulled over and got a warning because my plate wasn't visible. I did have a red flag on the object and was only going local, so he let me off. But just something to keep in mind.

You guys need a holder out of a 2nd gen 4runner with a swing out tire carrier.It comes with lights and bracket.
