License Plate on Spare Tire

I've got a custom swing arm on the back of my FJ 60 with a Jerry Can and Spare mounted. I need to move the license plate onto the spare tire so it can be seen. I've looked around for some sort of bracket but I can't find anything. I've seen some Jeeps with setups like this so I know something can be done. Any suggestions? I'd like to have the plate in the middle of the wheel.

side note - plate will not fit in the wheel since its a 15" it has to sit about 2-3 inches away from the studs.

I think what you are looking for is a can-adapter made by ConFerr. It is a two piece setup that has an inner triangle to utilize 3 studs on a tire mount and a square outer face on which people mount accessories like a gas can holder or ski rack. The distance between the two plates is adjustable on some models.

If you cannot find one elsewhere, I have a few.

Basically, I picked up a plate holder off of a late model Forerunner that had the factory tire carrer, then I had a heavy duty bracket made that could hold the added weight of the Forerunner holder. Then I wired the Forerunner holder with a quick disconnect, ran it through the spare and wired into the truck's running lights. Has been a great set up.

I think Christo sells something like what madams557 rigged up for his carrier - might want to give him a call (even had lights IIRC). The Toyota one sure is nice though if you could find one for a 4Runner at a local junk yard....
