The chrome license plate lights are starting to deteriorate badly on my late '77. Any suggestions?

If the OP has a 1977, the license plate light is different from the ones listed above. They changed throughout the years.

There are 2 seperate on the later models.

I sourced some very near look-alikes for my 1977 from Pep Boys for $10. The studs don't EXACTLY line up, so I had to drill a hole, but the bases are almost identical shape.

The 77 should have two small lights, one on each side of the tag, where as the older models like mine has one long light mounted under the tag. I thought the newer ones were gone prompting something like Onemanarmy did. Odd that you can still get the older light from any Toyota dealer.

My 70 has 1 small light above the plate. I dont know if that is OEM tho. But im not using it due to the swing out gate.

Mine has the two smaller lights on either side of the plate. About 3" long.
