Here's some pics of my latest parts cruiser. Thanks Duane. My boss let's me use his shop for my projects. He's convinced I have a sickness. And he gave me two weeks to get this picked apart and the scrap hauled off. This is one serious rust bucket, but it's loaded with some great parts.

Interior

Something was living in here. Thankfully it didn't smell up the shop after being cooped up inside.

After day 1

As she sits now. Hopefully there's enough metal left on those doors to patch and make some half doors.

Parts

I will be parting this rig out. There's only a few items I was needing to keep off this. If there's something you want shoot me a pm. FYI the fiberclass cap is darn near perfect except for being painted. Also, the gas tank is clearly a replacemet and is in great shape.

Strangely, except for the body and frame, most of this truck is in excellent condition. It has a header with what appears to be a brand new exhaust from the header back.

Day 4 (working days)

Sweet mother of pearls she runs. :bounce2: I swaped out batteries and my dizzy for hers and she fired right up. Now I've got a little confidence before putting it in the one My daughter will be driving all summer. Here's some shots of where it stands. The last pic is a pile of metal going to the scrapper. That pile grows everyday. I wonder if my boss will count working days and not calendar days?

if your scrapping the hood can you cut off the front 8 inches for me please? it's for a decoration for the garage.. Just a cut off wheel in the grinder would be sufficient.. I've got every other piece to build a complete truck driving out of my wall but missing that section.. It's not often someone is scrapping a hood.. Please and thank you..
 
It's pretty rusty, but if you want it, it's all yours.

I don't know whats worse, the fact that you consider a rusty hood "art" or that I know what you're going to do with it and would have to agree with that classification.....
 
Compression

It's been a long time since I've checked compression. Will I get the same reading if I turn it over by hand, as if I use the starter? Also, I can't find my compression tester. Does anyone have one I could borrow?
 
i've got one.. you need to spin it with the starter to do it properly. otherwise it'll bleed off.
not sure how much i'll be in the office tuesday tho. wed would be better.
 
Day 8

I wish my shop was at my house. I wouldn't feel so disconnected from my family when I'm working on the cruiser. Here she stands after 8 working days. My 9 year old daughter is helping again. And my dad stopped by just to say hi. I put him to work helping me pull the cowl off.

I was loading the chassis on the trailer to take it to the car wash... SNAP, the board I was attached to busted and the cruiser when rolling down the ramps flinging wood and the come-along through the air. Thankfully it didn't hit me or run into anything. So now I'm done working on the cruiser to fix the trailer. :doh:

My friend who let's me use his shop owns that. He and his son have been working on it off and on over the last couple years. It runs great and they had a fantastic paint job put on it. I think he's considering selling it to build a mini into an autocross car.

Your "ART" is ready. If you would like I can bring it by when I come snag the compression tester. I have to come by Molle to get some parts next week. Let me know.

Tester is here in the office waiting on you.. Girls up front even know to pass it on if i'm not here.. Gimme a date if possible your coming by. not sure i'll be at this office wed or thurs but who cares, they freak on my hobby anyway
