Just put in a set of these that 1978HJ45 brought to our attention. What a difference! Installation was plug and play and the lights came with clear instructions that included pics. Some before and after photos.

The cargo area. Yeah it's dark because my cargo light did not work.

My cargo light was in bad shape and full of dust. Had a spare that I used for the LED installation.

A night shot after installation. Finally I can what's in the rear.

My dome light worked but was weak and even with the addition of a Hella map light the overall light output was low.

Replacing with the LED light made a huge difference.

What I also discovered is that the switch contacts for both lights need to be cleaned. These light switches haven't had much use since I've owned the FJ60 and it seems a bit of crud may have built up on the contacts. I think hitting them with something like CRC electrical cleaner and moving the switches through the positions a few times should clean up the contacts.

That's quite a difference.....
You'll be able to see critters so much better now. :)

link??

where did you get them?

cost?

Not to take away business from the classifieds, but just another option, I replaced mine with led units from superbrightleds.com, and totally happy with them. Plug and play in the stock unit, and well, night and day in the light that is thrown out. They have a variety of brightness options in the bulb style, which off the top of my head is called a festoon bulb, and if I recall is about 41mm long. Take a measurement of yours first, (disclaimer) I've had a few Ballast Points, and I may be confusing the measurement off my old 635 trunk lights..

I have the same LED Goodwin has, I am blown away everytime I open the doors, it's just an amazing upgrade. Funny even in the bright sun....I can tell the light is on...

I've got a single unit in my HJ75 and it is very impressive (24 individual LED bulbs) while the 60 Series setup (front and rear) has 36 individual bulbs. You'll be able to see the loose change and old French fries between the seats for the first time. :)

Jim, I'll email you when the LED under-hood lighting system is finished. You can light up that 60 Series from end to end.
:)

You need to be able to see critters in the engine bay also. :)

Brightness doesn't appear to be an issue. :)
