Leaking from the highlighted area down the A pillar. Seems to be coming from the copper tube. What is the fix for this? I ended up parking slightly uphill and the leak has stopped for now but that is not something I can do all the time.

The copper tube just holds the cable for motor/track operation. The water may be coming out there, at least apparently, but it's not the source of your leak. Search the forums here. Tons of posts on this issue. Possible culprits:

- Plugged drain tubes (make sure you check and clear the fitting at the very bottom of the tube under the vehicle, as well)
- Destroyed/leaking seal (rubber weather seal between plastic glass bezel and body)
- Leak at plastic glass bezel (this is factory-installed and is a common source of leaks. Need to seal between this and the glass with epoxy, marine sealant, or flex-seal tape or replace with new factory-glass unit)

I dont recall when I posted it but search by post history for sunroof seal replacement. There was some rubber strip that kept folding over and letting water in.

when i removed plastic trim around sunroof glass every thing under was wet from condensation and i think it runs down spiral cable and ends up in the cable guide causes it to rust.after that i opened the slide cover lets air in and it dries ,to late for me but may help you

That copper tube is continues all the way to the motor in the center of the head liner at the driver and passenger light.

Watch this. It’s a complete break down of the entire system. I solved my leak after this.

Sorry to bump an old post- I watched this video and it was super helpful, thank you.

I didn't understand how the moonroof track sat above the headliner and i've been trying to diag a strange leak. I don't have clogged drains in the front, and my gaskets are good. I don't see any damage to the track. I haven't dropped the headliner yet.

I was wondering, do these roofs have rear drain holes? I don't see any in the video and it's difficult to see physically on the car- just wanted to make sure

Yes, rear corners have drains. Also check the factory plastic seal around the glass. That’s one of the most common areas to leak.

Correct. Sometimes it’s the joint in the plastic, sometimes it’s multiple areas of plastic to glass.

Yes, the 100 series moonroof does have rear drains — they're just harder to find. There are two small holes at the rear corners of the tray that drain down through the D-pillars and exit under the vehicle near the rear wheel wells. Same concept as the fronts, just longer run.

When I had a 99 with the same mystery leak — front drains completely clear, seal looked fine — it turned out the rear drains were packed solid with years of compressed leaf debris. The tubes themselves intact but blocked about halfway down. A long thin zip tie to break it loose then a shot of compressed air cleared it right out. What came out of those tubes was impressive.

Also worth checking the rubber grommet where the rear drain exits the body — that's a secondary leak point that looks fine from above but weeps when the tube gets any back pressure. Still about 8 bucks from Toyota and worth doing while you're at it.

Okay, thanks I will check that out. Maybe just some clear silicone can resolve that issue.

I had just found this diagram for my LC- it only shows 2 drains. I did look for rear drains but I couldn't see any. Would it be different between different years on 100 series? Where do the rear drains come out under the car, just below the D pillars?

In case it's any help for future peeps, my leak was indeed under the plastic

Edit
Yeah I dunno, took roof out and the leak actually appears to be coming from the plastic in the corner here (like @TahoeZ said). I removed all screws and bolts though and this stuff doesn't seem to come apart.
