What's the general consensus on the quality of LCE Performance rebuilt Toyota engines? There's a '97 80-series for sale in my area with what the sellers calls "an original engine completely rebuilt by LC Performance." I've never heard of them, which makes me cautious.

I saw that posting, 400k on truck 150k on a rebuilt lc engine. Have a shop do a pre purchase inspection with a compression and leak down test, that will give you an idea of the health of the motor. I have looked at there rebuild kits before, and I would personally not put that in a cruiser, Chinese safety pistons, Hastings rings are good, for bearings they offer generic sizing which Toyota did not use each bearing size is specific to the journal. Maybe I am wrong it’s got 150k miles on the rebuild.

Here's their rebuild kit, I assume those are the parts they'd use on rebuilds in house. Not sure on parts quality but i'm sure someone else can chime in

I purchased a short block from the Toyota dealer, the oem gasket set from parts soup, had the head rebuilt by a local engine shop and assembled the rest myself. Its been running since December 2023. Works fine. Its all Toyota parts.I Have lc engine parts on my 22re. I still prefer the factory timing gears and chain. I do use their metal back timing guides on the 22re. Have not purchased and parts from them for MY cruiser
