You’ll be fine. My only off-roading experience before last year’s LCDC was driving on the beach. Pay attention, watch the road not the scenery, and take your time.

One more tip — if you have a later 200 with the front camera, set it to come on automatically at low speed. I find the camera to be very helpful when picking my line through rocky trails.

RGR. will stay tuned.

FWIW the Telluride 100 has announced their date for next summer, Saturday July 27th. Unfortunately they don't release the course for some time as they have to go through the permitting process with the FS. But you can bet that day, the mountain bikers will once again descend (and ascend) several of the high passes between Telluride and Ouray.

So is there an actually date selected yet, or still tentative? Is it just a show up kind of gathering? Web link? Ah. 200s. Are 60s welcome.

Thanks much.
Chris

I think it's officially a 200-series gathering, but if you show up in your 60 I'll wheel my 200 with you, even if everyone else disowns me ;-)

Now if you show up in a stock JK that's a different story

100s in the Hills has Kendall Mt. in Silverton booked from July 24-29 so we'll be causing a ruckus that weekend too. Personally, I'd love cross paths with the LCDC group, as long as doesn't turn into rush hour traffic on Black Bear.

Lol. I appreciate that. No Heeps here.
Will see if we can make it. Might have to do some carb adjustments for the elevation there.

That’s a beautiful 60! Unfortunately we’ve always said 200’s only to keep it fair for everyone. If we let one in then we’d have to let everyone participate. Hopefully that makes sense.

I would say that the FJ Summit has evolved into all Toyota’s and runs the same trails, but at a much larger scale.

This is just a plug to new drivers with kids...who may be wondering about whether the event is kid-friendly...

Yes it is!!
Bring em along! You’ll find entire families throughout the event. We’ve had kids from 1 to 18 years old.

Here’s one of my favorite non-tire ( :hillbilly: ) photos from Breckenridge LCDC...
- @codyaustin5 ’s co-pilot threw a perfect strike with a snowball... She also makes a great tour-guide/animal spotter on the radio.
Fun stuff! :)

The FJ Summit had 400 vehicles in 2018. Holy cow, that's a big group.

That’s crazy!

Last year we actually had a grumpy ranger COUNTING how many trucks were in one of our trail groups...as there are rules about what constitutes an official “event.”

No worries.I'll check out the Summit.
Our Turf and Surf 2018 is taking place in Nov in the dunes of Pismo Beach.
All Toyotas are welcome there.
Cheers.

Check out Cruise Moab which is a general Toyota 4x4 event that takes place in the first weekend of May each year. I'm on the planning committee for the 2019 event, and I think it's going to be a good one: Cruise Moab - Toyota 4x4 event in Moab, UT

I’ll definitely vouch for Cruise Moab as a great introduction (or return to) Moab. It’s the PERFECT time of year for pleasant temperatures...surorisingly-GREEN plant life...and a massive mix of Toyota vehicles.

You’ll see Tacos, 4Runners, and every imaginable type of Land Cruiser. Trails are rated by difficulty, and include levels from scenic, low-stress easy stuff...to hard core bashing. All types will find a trail for their interest and comfort level.

Yes, been out here on this side of the country with my 60 now for 14 years. I e never done Moab or Rub. Been to WA, OR, AZ, NV, and across the county twice. We need to do them both in 2019. No excuses really. Well, need a small trailer on which I can mount the RTT to so we don’t have to lower it every morning prior to hitting the trails, or erector for that matter after a long day on the trail. We do have it down to about 7 min.
Oh, and a regear to 4.56 to help pull said trailer trailer. Lol. The list goes on really.

Getting an early start on the artwork for the 5th annual trip. Here are four concepts for the annual sticker, shout out with your preferences...

I'll be doing another run of patches as well (a bit bigger), also working on ideas for a t-shirt but those will be on a pre-order only basis.
