think I may have found source of my front end knock. seems previous owner tightened the adjuster bolts to full torque while LCA’s were fully suspended which led to their premature demise.

In the interest of time I think I will replace the entire arm even tho lower ball joints look good.

I guess I should replace the adjuster bolts and nuts as well? Anything else I should address while I’m in there (swaybar bushes, etc)?

can anybody point me in the direction of a diy thread? Thank you in advance.

Possibly the SPC Cam bolt kit instead of the factory bolt?

Not sure about a dedicated thread. Lower arms are pretty straightforward. So long as cam bolts aren't rusted. I'd recommend taking the two bolts off the lower ball joint cradle. Then use a jack stand to support the knuckle and upper arm. Then you're in it for 4 bolts. Shock, swaybar linkage, and two cam bolts. If you see rust pre apply on blaster or some other penetrating oil a day or two before wrenching.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

My Indy wants $600 for R&R on top of the $900 for the arms! I think they can be had for less than 300 per side and the work itself didn’t look that involved. Maybe I’m fooling myself though I Enjoy working on My own stuff

900 for arms? Ouch
Camelback toyota has them for 312 each.

Also someone with aftermarket tundra arms recently had a lower balljoint shear off, so try to avoid aftermarket
