Greetings!

First time posting. Long time following this forum. We are preparing to purchase our first LC. I am interested in the 200 series and leaning towards 2013-2016 year models. I think I have convinced my better half that this is a superior car to her 2014 Rx350... however I have a small concern she will be frustrated by losing a couple safety features and critter comforts. She will be the primary driver with kids in tow and will be our weekend adventure machine... In the. Any threads regarding safety I could not find details on the below. Any help on questions is appreciated!!

- In what year is blind spot monitoring available?

- In what year is lane departure assist available?

- Does the driver seat/ steering column move to a “parked detent” when the car is turned off? Call me a dork, but I like this shtuff...

- Any other safety features that would make a newer model more appreciable?

Thanks and looking forward to joining the club!

Not sure about earlier years but my 13 does move the steering wheel away when ignition is shut off by default. Drivers seat doesn’t move though.

My '15 will "park" the steering wheel (up) but the seat doesn't move. First thing I disabled when I got the truck (you need Techstream to do this).

Yup '16+ has more safety stuff, and I believe the radar cruise is a little more refined.

Although I have it disabled. My ‘13 LX has the seat (and steering) move entry/exit setting.

If you disabled the steering wheel movement, upon turn on and off, where does it then permanently reside? All the way to dash or extended?
In “settings” then other settings “drivers seat easy exit” for the seat movement. For the steering wheel it takes changing programming in tech stream.

I ve a 2011, my seat only moves based on the number manually selected. Wheel telescopes every time, further adjusts if you choose different seat number, for various driver.

But with techstream, wheres the wheel end up if turning off? Or do you adjust it to where you like and "freeze" it there with Techstream?

You can also use Carista to turn off the auto steering wheel motor when the engine turns off.

For those w 16+, can the safety features (lane keeping, etc) be disabled permanently, or do you have to turn them off every time you turn on the car?

There is an off switch (either a physical switch or a setting) for each feature. They stay off if you set them off on my '17. I keep on only blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. When you turn on cruise, you do have to hold the lever until the regular cruise is set, otherwise you get the auto-follow cruise (or whatever it's called).

Like others said. When you disable the steering wheel entry exit it just stays in wherever you have it and you can still adjust it with the joystick. I just disabled it as I don’t need it to move every time I start and stop the car and figured I’d save some wear and tear.

And to be clear the models with lane departure only alert you. They will not correct the steering wheel to keep you in-lane like many other current model toyotas with electric power steering.

Good stuff. Much appreciated. We are also considering the LX and I may have the wife go test drive one soon. I suppose it would have similar feature profile? We would be looking at the 13-15 versions - the newer model front grille is not for us.
